Total # of Easties vs Westies

Forums:

Let's do a head count.

Westy

I 2nd that emotion

The west is the BEST!

WEST yo.

MIDWEST AKA KING-MAKERS

you costal rubes keep on believing that you matter while we will continue to choose who leads you

Bucky, I'd like to eat cheese curds and bad mouth Italians with you.

I hear Nick started speaking so much Italian he lost his mind and can't figure out english anymore.

East always had the best shows but I'm a westie now

((((Thinking in Italian)))

I'm from the West coast but spent years back East. I prefer it out there. Now I'm in the Great White North which I

technically consider the NW.

Westy almost 20 years now and I'm never moving back east...

Post a pic zip!

Westy for almost 24 years, but I became a Confederate earlier this year, might be temporary though.

It's 12 degrees 2hrs north of Philadelphia

It's warmer in Mat-Su valley today. 17 degrees one hour North of Anchorage.

Hahahahaha how did you know I hate Italians? That's weird but yeah that sounds like a good time. The old fashioned in Madison has the best cheese curds and I know a bar near there that has a lot of great metal on the jukebox.

East

East is the beast. West is the best. Born in Philly. Fifteen years in Chicago. Bay Area resident pushing 23 years now. For sure saw my favorite Grateful Dead concerts in the East and Midwest.

East, now West.  West is best.

East,18 here

As a West coast head that has been to every state except Hawaii I can say that the East is far superior to the West.

Colorado Trumps both coasts however.

First 1/2 East.  Second 1/2 West.  Very much like the blend, but don't put me in the middle.  Can't be land-locked.

I like both east and west and am happy I live in a country where you can move freely about.

Westy. moved here from CT in '98

Ain't no party like a west coast party
Cause a west coast party don't stop

Westie here.

Beast Coast

There is no east. There is no west. There is no mid west...there is no south.

We are one or we are none.

Born In the East, but Westy by choice wink

Turtle getting real up in here :)

heartlander > great northwesty > ?????

Midwest (Ohio) here.

No mountains or oceans, but it was easy to see lots of shows on GD tour.

Always GTTS.

We must be none then because there's no fucking way I'm the south

East here

What's the boundary, continental divide?

Turtle is wise...Earthling checking in...

Native Californian....Westy?

East > West > East

I am third generation Cracker from North Florida, but got the hell out of dodge at 18 and moved to Wyoming (windy, god forsaken place with a few tiny towns full of shit kickers and cowboys separated by vast expanses of frozen high plains) for six years.  Then moved to Missoula for a few years, with a three year detour in Vermont, and then here to Portland, where I have been for over 16 years.  Been to all 50 states and can't imagine living anywhere else (except for maybe Missoula again or the San Juan Islands, but that will have to wait until retirement).

been a westy for 40 plus years... hope to never leave unless it's for the Italian Riviera.

When one moves from East to west or West to East,

how long must one be there before they are an Easty or Westy?

We who live on the gulf coast consider ourselves unique.  Monkey Kingdom gumbo.

But, east of the Big Muddy so technically east.  Counting living in FL, DC and NJ I guess that seals the deal.

I sometimes say if I had visited northern California when I was young I would be there today. I also say the same thing about northern England.

first 24 years in northern NY

next 39 years in NorCal

you decide if he was wise...

though landlocked my whole life,  I'm grateful I live in the Midwest and not the Middle East...

As a kid, whenever I looked at a map of the United States, I would wonder why the Midwest was not called the Mideast.  Nowhere near the middle of the continent...

California native :)~

Nice handle man it's like 2Pac or 2Chainz but with a twist

I'm going back to New York City

I do believe I've had enough.

East Sa-eeed. Lived in NorCal a bit, been to all the lower 48. had many (if not most) friends move to the west. one thing ive learned is home is wherever you make it. Although the Candy Folder has me rethinking things cool

Jersey.

Southern mid-westerner

Is it the place where you live that defines you or is it the person you are that defines you?

6 years Illinois (Born)

20 years Massachusetts

18 years Bay Area (Now)

Heading back east soon the bay area is way overpriced these days in all area's worth living. To much rich versus poor here lately with inequality increasing and anger rising especially on the roadways. Cali is now the worst driver's in the country per US surveys!

All Hail Marion Barry.

Fly, good to see you.

100% Cali

Do West coasters ever move east?

and my post was a paraphrasing of the canyon philosophy

Why would we, Turtle? To freeze our ballz off?

no turtle, they move to texas, arizona, and colorado.

Do West coasters ever move east?

One of my best friends here in Vermont is a guy who moved here from Santa Rosa about twenty five years ago to go to the New England Culinary Institute and stayed. He grew up in Santa Rosa and his parents and family still all live there. He's a great chef and has an amazing garden. He loves psychedelic music but hates the Grateful Dead.

Born in Cali, raised in OR, spent the last 18 years in AK.  If I go any more west it becomes the east!

thats likely true except for stuff like when he dipped into the folk catalog and bluegrass and maybe jazz.   he/hunter/grisman folded in lots of American styles to make his originals but no doubt the psychedelic sound reflected nor cal. Beautiful pic.   seems like lots of people here been all around this world.  sup fog!

>>>>Do West coasters ever move east?

I have noticed that a lot of kids who are born and raised in Oregon want to move east, especially New York City.   Many of the them end up doing just that, and many end up coming back after a few years.

West is Best !! Native Cali .

Born & raised in the Chicago area (affectionately aka Chicagoland), widely traveled U.S., and moved west 18 years ago. I much prefer the west and the access it provides me to "more west" such as West Coast/Pacific, remote locations of nature, killer camping, generally more agreeable weather, less humidity, less allergy hassles, and more general 'live and let live' attitudes and cultures (mostly).

All that aside, however, I think the GD seemed more lit up and energized on the road, for better or worse.

Cheers All - Together we are one and many!

It's also great living very close to such intense nature scapes and world class skiing while still having the comforts and conveniences of an international airport as well as urban life and culture without feeling trapped by any of it.

Lifelong east coaster here (51 years), but my heart is on the west coast, ideally northern Ca, Fort Bragg or more north, maybe Oregon someday

I am a Westie leaning hybrid strain. Grew up in DC area, went to college in Rochester and Ohio, lived in Oregon for 24 years. Not moving back.
