A Tremendous WEEN Show in Philadelphia.

Forums:

Brand new venue,  Ween played the fourth show there,  Bob Dylan played the first.
Opera house built in 1908 on Broad & Poplar in North phila.  Been abandoned some years and recently renovated.

They did a nice job renovating the place.  Seats 3500 and the seats are nice & cushy.  No elevators yet,  not sure how  that works with ADA laws.

Oh shit, Fluffy.

How'd he sing Freedom?

Did you go?

What is the parking situation?

I used to live at 22nd & poplar,  back then i would not stop at the stop signs around the met area

Parking was very hard to find for blocks around.  I parked on a  quiet alley-ish side street a block  from 15th & Girard. The left half of the vehicle was on the sidewalk.  Other rigs had done the same.  I think they were locals -- beater urban rigs with no Ween or Phish stickers.

The neighborhood doesn't seem as murderous compared to 20 years ago.  More sketchy was  driving Richmond back to Betsy Ross Bridge.  Some shady blocks along that route.

There are actual parking garages in surrounding blocks,  but that's Beer money !  Some guy nearby wanted $30 for parking -- Beers are $10 in the venue. Street parking saved me enough to purchase 3 Beers.  However I only had two,  thereby earning 10 dollars.

Thanks,  stu, glad you enjoyed the show.  Back when i lived in philly, I routinely parked on the sidewalk.

The president ruined the word tremendous for me.
