Trevor Bauer Assault Case

Today's update as MLB puts Bauer on Administrative Leave (meaning he is still getting paid):

It's going to be hard for him to justify that everything she's saying happened was consensual.

That guy is a strange dude for sure.

And now it seems a scary one as well.

But he has tons of money and he'll have really good lawyers, so I'm betting the dirty bastard comes out of this pretty clean.

He & Cosby can compare notes.

Thanks for Playing ______ He Is Toast with the Dodgers.

MLB extended his paid suspension for another week while they continue their investigation.  Of course, Bauer and his lawyers are denying the victim's version of events.

What we do know as facts, are that she ended up in the hospital with black eyes and bruises all over her body, and that there were a series of texts between the two of them where she asked to be choked out and to have Bauer "bring all the pain".

It looks like she greenlighted rough sex, but that's a whole lot different than waking up after being choked unconscious with Bauer anally penetrating her, which she says she didn't consent to.  If her version of events is legit, then Bauer is guilty of raping her, and should be looking at a long (perhaps permanent) ban from MLB.  Earlier this year, MLB dropped the banhammer on the Pittsburgh Pirates former closer for having a sexual tryst with a 14 year old.  If the charges against Bauer are substantiated, why should he face any less severe punishment?

So far his main punishment has been the Dodgers cancelling his bobblehead night and removing his jersey from their team store.

Based on the way MLB has handled previous types of incidents, a suspension is surely coming convicted or not.

You know it's gonna get stranger:

MLB may end up suspending Bauer for the rest of the season over their personal conduct clause, but it's looking less likely that he will get charged with a crime, leaving the Dodgers on the hook for $70 million over the next two years.

Baseball groupie girl is worried about slut-shaming.   Don't do the crime if you can't pay the time.

"The real story from Day 2 of the Trevor Bauer hearing is that Trevor Bauer punched an unconscious woman, in his own words. He had anal sex with an unconscious woman, by his own admission and his lawyer’s own admission. You can’t legally give consent for those acts."

Good read, thanks for posting, Terry.

In summary, Bauer's attorneys may win the battle, but lose the war. Herbal

Terry - man that article is a deep dive

So the rough sex guy gets a pass from the judge on the restraining order:

MLB is still likely to extend his suspension tomorrow, pending the results of the criminal inquiry to his actions.  As Terry's link above lays it out, Bauer is still facing the possibility of criminal rape and assault charges.  He does have a shit-ton of money to pay lawyers and trauma experts to testify in his behalf, so he still might walk free.

In all honesty, the accuser in this case may be deserving of some sympathy, but still comes across as a ditz.

Well, looks that was a big shakedown ruse, eh?

Here is the nice video of the accuser - https://twitter.com/ChayaRaichik10/status/1709048057579581781

Lance, anyone else you think should be comparing notes with Bill Cosby?

I don't know anything about this case but I do know that Chaya Raichick is a MAGA piece of shit. Are we saying people who get drunk in public can't be raped?

Tom Glavine thinks he'll be pitching in MLB again next year:

This is a pretty balanced summary of the recent developments:

I'd agree with the author that while Trevor Bauer seems like a dick, losing three years of his career and being forced to earn a living in exile for unproven allegations was unfair.

Are we saying people who get drunk in public can't be raped?<<<

No one has said that.

Sometimes people lie for nefarious reasons.  That's what's being said.

Sometimes those people have a drinking problem.

Fair enough and I agree with that. The pendulum has swung too far in cases where only two people can really know what happened. That said Chaya Raichick has an agenda to swing the pendulum back to the days when you had to be a nun held at gun point to be able to claim sexual assault.

The college board disciplinary hearings, that result in pubically being expelled for sexual assault, are currently set up where the accused is not allowed to defend themselves because it will cause trauma for the accuser. That is ridiculous.
