Trey ripping off Panera

Forums:

He's been known to save his soft drink cup from Panera Bread Co and return at a later date, and slyly use said cup for "free" refills.

oof

Panera is actually pretty generous with their space.  I lurked there many evenings to use their free,  moderately - fast WIFI signal when between the eras of Dial-Up and modern times.  Seems a shame they don't really produce any food I want,  because I certainly would have eaten something.

But they allowed me to lurk about after closing hours while they cleaned,  with no complaints.

Once the manager came over and said "Hey bro,  technically we've been closed for about half an Hour;  you're not bothering anyone,  but consider finishing up your DNB show download so we can lock up the place."

I thought that was awfully nice of them.  Pretty good Muzak too.

They opened one in our town a few years ago. Last year we finally checked it out.

The food sucked.

Cheese

Wash you handzie drive me to myfriendzi.

Spin-off threads are lazy and usually made by attention seekers.

consider finishing up your DNB show download<<<

How did the manager know you were downloading a DNB show?

I think spin off threads are fun and funny, as a DBMB should be

Their Frontega Chicken Panini is pretty good, as is their black bean soup.

I also like Guyute.

I tried it once and Panera kinda sucks.   I guess its better than McDonald's or Jack in the Box, but with so many good, locally owned restaurants and food carts out there, don't see why anybody would keep patronizing a place like that.

I love spin-off threads. It takes creativity to come up with a spin-off thread, though it's true not all are well-crafted.

But are they "spin-off threads" in the same sense as a spin-off tv series?

Frasier was a character on Cheers, but what does Panera have to do with anything other than being one t short of Pantera??

All you need.

Were you watching sled dog porn?

Lets also not lose sight of how this was the original "Trey ripping off Pantera" spin-off thread.

Home of the "Chicken Condom" (not what it sounds like).

Briefly:  The boss of someone I know is a nice, if dull, guy.  Successful businessman; works hard; enjoys going to the mall on Sunday to stimulate the economy and have a Panera chicken-something-or-other sammy.  One Sunday, he feels as if his sammy is a little light on chicken and tells them so at the counter.

"That's impossible, Sir."  They then proceed to show him something that looks like a "heavy-duty condom" which is used to measure the amount of meat that goes into a menu item.

I think he goes to PF Chang's on Sundays now.

This.   It's all relative.   It you are looking for a Panera to be something it isn't, why bother.   But as a chain, it's above most of the rest (yes there is a low bar).  Perhaps there is a spinoff of a spinoff thread for best chain restaurants.

We end of getting it for a bunch of corporate meetings and it's much better than some of the shitty sandwich shops around here.    People like Jimmy Johns but that's pure crap.   Zoes isn't bad either for a chain.

And PFC's doesn't use some sort of weird control measures to insure their Kung Pao chicken always looks / tastes the same?

If you ever watched "South Park"  then you are aware PF Chang is merely a front for the Chinese Invasion,  AKA "Long March".

Anyway,

I did once purchase a Panera "Cheese Steak" sandwich.

The item was really a joke.  Just not in the running for an actual Cheese Steak.

Maybe people in Iowa or South Dakota would be fine with it.  I guess it was just not for me.

The ironing, please continue.  What kind of listening approach does he have in regard to his cd collection?
