Treys acoustic shows

Forums:

prove that they are great song writers and have great songs that stand the test of time

For sure. He is just amazing and is here to stay. I am blown away once again.

Songs like Run like an antelope?

I love and respect Trey and Phish.

Have had a ton of fun since my first time seeing them at DNA Lounge in SF back in '91 for $8.

And I don't want to take anything away from Trey or Phish, in terms of the joy I've derived....

But this being a GD oriented page, I have to personally say that Acoustic music is far from Trey's true forte as a guitar player and that I got a ton more buzz and elation watching Garcia play acoustic with the GD at RCMH in '80, solo acoustic back in '82 at the Capitol, alongside John Kahn and with Almost Acoustic Band in '87 and with Grisman in the 90's then the handful of times I've seen Trey play acoustic.

Still - he's worthy of respect and I dig what he does.

Or Meatstick?

Comparing Trey to Jerry is just silly

and let's face it...the GD catalog isn't all epic tunes.

Good times

Or Ass Handed.

This wasn't meant to be a trey Jerry thing if you doubt his acoustic chops though queue up the YouTube from prairie home companion he could easily get pull of sweet acoustic band shows

I have seen him play acoustic plenty. These past shows as well. It was fantastic

sorry, you won't convince me different, I love his playing acoustic or not.

this past week was sweet

I hear you joe

The biggest thing I dislike about Trey is the tone ofn  his Languedoc gtr. So it was nice to hear an acoustic.
