Tribute concert for Ramblin’ Jack, SF

Forums:

At the Masonic Auditorium in San Francisco on Sunday Jan. 28th. Goes on sale today.

Ramblin' Jack Elliott is a fucking (living) legend, in the truest sense of that word, and the lineup for the show reflects that.

Should be a real good one....

That sounds wonderful!

Thanks Lance, planning on this one....obviously Weir will be there as well....

I've had the pleasure of talking with Jack a couple of times about his time with Dylan and his work in general.

Such a nice, humble, down to earth guy, still drives an older pickup truck....

Shit, even his Visa card says "Ramblin' Jack Elliot!"

Living legend indeed....

That would be one I'd like to be at. Yeah, Ramblin' Jack. I got to introduce him once. He liked my intro so he gave me his pick. Nice guy.

What a great and diverse lineup.  A few of my favs there.

No shit. Wow. That's a hell of a list of songwriters right there.

I hope they stream this as tix were out of my league. Might raise some more dough for the cause. What a show this could be.

I tried for tickets, and thought I had couple in the balcony for $90 each, but by the time they hit my cart, they were like $140, so I said screw it. Fuck dynamic pricing.

I would say there would be some chance that Bob Dylan could be at this?

I'm not sure what you folks are talking about on the tickets. Right now there are lots of tix available in the balcony for $64 or $97.50 all-in.

If you haven't been to the Masonic, IMO almost anywhere in the balcony is good; maybe not GREAT, but the sound is usually good and even the top row feels fully "in the room", and I generally prefer it up there.

In this day & age, especially with this being a benefit and considering the lineup I'm surprised the prices aren't higher.

Looks like it was an interesting show, with guest sit-ins from Bob Weir and Joan Baez.  Far out that Ramblin' Jack is still performing.

I went to the show last night and all I can say was that it was a moving experience anf fantastic concert. Jack is living history. All the artists were great and the production was very smooth!

I was sorry to have missed this, but (unlike Weir) I couldn't go to the 49ers game and this too so I gave my ticket to the show to a friend.

She basically said the same thing about the emotional vibe all through the show. She didn't even really know much about Elliott before going, but now she's a fan.

Too many of these deals happen after the person being honored has died, so it's nice that this could be done while Ramblin' Jack is still alive to appreciate it.

Thanks for that link, HD.

Yes, thanks for the link, Dave.
