True Detective season 3...

I like it a lot. For reference, loved season 1 as everyone did. I'm in the small group that didn't hate season 2. I think Vaughn was miscast but the big issue was it was judged against season 1. They were never going to repeat that, if season 2 was the start , IMO the reviews would have been better. That said 3 is off to a great start thru 3 episodes, the interaction between Ali's character and wife will push it I think. Looking forward to seeing the rest

Very good season so far..

Like it so far, hope it keeps going.  For some reason skipped season 2.    3  seems to have picked up attention so giving it a try

I like the multi year format of the story telling, but so far (haven't watched tonight's episode yet) it's moving at a snails pace.

I'm also apparently one of the few people that enjoyed season 2.

So the one with Woody and Mathew was the first season?  I really enjoyed that one.  Never saw season 2.  DVRing the new one. Will watch when it is done.

last night was ok, lil slow, but the highlights for next episode (5?) seem to show lots of plot twists and reveals.  That would help with pacing a bit.

I think I skipped season 2 because i was miffed that it wasnt going to be woody and matthew.

Thanks for this update, that its as good as the other seasons.

I will get caught up, some how, some day.

Anyone watch next episode?  Purdy good.  What secret are they hiding?  great acting as old guys.  Poor vet (woodward) had his revenge. Hays:"you gonna put this on me?"

Still cant guess were it is headed but I got theories. Whadya think?

This season seems to be moving slower than past seasons. I'm hanging in there. Last night was OK we still didn't get much, Yes they are Hiding something (Maybe they set up the Garbage guy figuring he was dead let's just pin it on him) Or at least someone did right.. Seems odd to me they moved on from the priest so fast, They know his pictures are linked somehow ? The Girl is alive and Blames her Father but we all saw he lost track of time ? Maybe Someone was trying to get the kids away from the family ie The Priest and accidentally killed the boy  or maybe they want you to think that ?? Who Knows ?? 

I fall asleep during every episode. 

yeah. I see that dise,  I was close to giving up last week but last night moved a little more. They do the dark moody thing with low dialogue too.

Last night had all kinds of stuff, like splosions and brains-on-wall. plus some good acting.

And Bpeter- They name dropped a police guy who wasnt on 90 timeline, but was on 80.  Random.  maybe he got kilt by our protagonists and thats their secret? Forgot about the priest photos

Who are the actors this year season?

Mahershala Ali and Stephen Dorff are the main detective actors, they are fantastic.  Special nod to Scoot McNairy as a main character too.  Its pretty good.

Yes they did.  Still a bit slow paced for my tastes but you can finally get some idea of where this is going.

The entire season was just trash. Worse than season 2

Don't know what show you were watching , I thought season 3 was very good B plus rating, Kept me interested throughout, I liked the way they tied everything up (maybe) unlike the Sopranos or Seinfield with awful last episodes, YRMV

I'd say I liked the season overall.  The last episode tried to jam too much in and Im still thinking about it.  It wasnt as juicy as Id have liked but good acting. I might watch finale again.
