Tucker interview Phil Lesh

Phil's book came out in April 2005, right after Carlson "left" CNN and went on to MSNBC.  The country and our politics have changed a lot since then.  Tucker went on to Fox (right around when Obama was inaugurated) and became much more than and much worse than a conservative commentator.  Phil and The Dead went on to play for Obama at a pre-election benefit in 2008 and at the 2009 inauguration.

really solid interview tbh

Dead Heads for Obama was the weirdest vibe at a concert I can remember. Strange hyped-up energy and undercurrents of political hostility on the floor. And that one guy yelling "Dr. Ron Paul!"

I am glad that Obama won the election.

Remember before the band came out for the first set, Brian Farmer and Robbie Taylor were checking on Warren's guitar and Phil's bass?

and they teased Shakedown?

Robbie dropped a bomb or 2

While Brian strummed "The Chord"

Deadheads for Obama at the Warfield was a special night of pretty fine music, for the most part. Weird to mix politics & the Dead, but hey, it was an exciting time. Wook factor pretty low, to boot.

I liked the interview and found it strange in terms of where Tuck is today.

DeadHeads for Obama in Pittsburgh was fun but strange after a 6 hour drive. Warren had not yet found a voice in the Jerry space,

Strange as it was, it was good to get the fans together .... we were all so hungry for and missing the music and scene

Dead Heads for Obama at the Warfield was one of my top 5 post Jerry shows. There was great energy in the building that night.
