Chilly and rainy in these parts today. Just turned on the heat for the first time since spring.
We also had a firewood delivery on Wednesday and had our first fire that night of the season.
Have you all had to turn on the heat or get a fire going in the fireplace?

Got a few cords here & there stacked and dry, need to cut up another couple dozen of Deadfall. Locust, Oak, Ash, Maple.
I'll try to make it through Turkey Day before heating the shack. Dog likes it chilly.

Just got the first part of the harvest into jars, so we had the first fire of the year today. Part Deux resumes tomorrow, so it'll be a week or so before we can have another. We have central heat if it gets cold, and it's more controllable so can be used while buds are drying without overheating them.

I have been turning my heat on periodically over the past week. It was going down to the upper 30's at night about a week ago and staying very cool during the day.

My building superintendent
My building superintendent just had surgery last Monday to remove part of his lung after they discovered stage 1 cancer. He's the one who fires up the radiator, and he told me he's gone until the 10th. I'm in Marin right now, but I'm back in Seattle on Monday. I'll just throw on an extra layer or two until they fire up the heat.

We're actually having the best weather of the year right now, IMO. Low around 50, high 70. Clear and sunny, a little breezy in the PM.
Perfect for finishing up the buds, too.
