Well, since it's not a real award I'll not protest, but I still think others were robbed.

As for the trophy, if it's similar to this one that I was awarded many, many (many) years ago, I'll happily accept it...

Here's your trophy Lance. Proving once again that it is statistically possible, though extremely rare, for a somewhat normal person to win a Zonie.

Now, it's your job to protect it for an entire year -- so don't be taking it to TXR and be wavin it around all proud-like.....'cause Jill might see it and confiscate it (she never won one and will try and get one by any means necessary).

And, don't try and melt it down and sell it. It's not real gold. Which is surprising, as it was smelted from a Rolex we swiped from John Meyer's dressing room when he played that 77 show with Phil.

Lance, way to set a great example here and be prepared for more jealousy directed your way. There will be more lashing out and envious of your accomplishment.

Personally, I look to Lance for his well-written, level-headed take on the Bay-area music scene. The dude sees a lot of shows and I respect his opinion.

And by "sees a lot of shows", I mean he can actually SEE the stage.

I had one that looked very similar to that. I actually watched game 6 of the 1986 World Series on it. I was scheduled to run the front door , w one other person, at a nightclub i was managing back then. I watched 8 innings w that lil black and white on a table near us. 

A dear friend (maybe, maybe not , looking back) relieved me in the 9th, so i could go upstairs to the club, and watch the Sox win their first series in 68 years. Im not sure where that tv is now, but, if its like the one that was in my house for game 7???

Its in a million pieces.

The zone 2.0 is nearing the point where we need to have a family meeting and make the difficult decision to pull it off life support.

I threw in with Bluelight, as he best epitomized 2018 to me, a surreal rollar-coaster ride in so many ways.

But Lance, with his rational, even-keeled posts is a much needed anecdote.

Good job gentleman -- when the weather is too crappy to bang on rocks, the Zone still provides some amusement and /or information.
