Lots of decades (in Jules Maes Tavern's case, century's) old establishments in this city are permanently closing.  Our city will look considerably different when this pandemic ends.

This week we will have perfect weather here, with sunny skies and moderate temperatures with highs in the high 70's to low 80's.  Basically heaven on earth.  It would normally be the peak of the tourist season, but instead we have closed hotels and no cruise ships.  A few intrepid folks are taking advantage of cheap flights and traveling, but they are a tiny fraction of the usual out of town traffic.  In my neighborhood, having the University of Washington shut down has reduced foot traffic.  In many ways, we really are on our own.  It's good to see the community support.  In the words of Ken Kesey, "we ain't many, we ain't many".

Things are tough all over.  How's your community doing?

Stay healthy, stay strong, be kind to one another.
