Keep in mind, VT would be the first state to have legalization by legislation rather than referendum. A lot of people are kind of sick of VT being the "first."

He really wants some sort of roadside drug test for it, which isn't coming very soon. However, Canada and neighboring states are legalizing, and the VT population is all for it. He knows that it's coming down the pike.

In his conference today he mentioned multiple times being a libertarian and not wanting to control what people do in their own homes.

He also said that he feels that they can come up with a compromise plan before July, 2018, when the proposed law would go into effect.

the bill only legalized two plants flowering and 4 veg plants. lol. 

it also appointed a committee to recommend a tax and regulate system to be voted on next session in january; so a tax and regulate model wasn't even a guarantee, and if the house passed that, dickhead could've still vetoed the tax and regulate law. shameful shit to say the least. 

people are saying he's a one term gov. now. what says the viva vermont crew? 60% of VT wants tax and regulate. 

there are many many cannabis users in vt, people are still getting high and driving, now for another two years at least w/ no type of regulation.

i agree, wasn't a perfect bill by any means, but that's vermont-i've been paying attention to the politics-there are a few knowledgeable politicians in vt on the cannabis issues, and a whole lotte reefer madness simple minded fucks.

Disappointing for sure. The main problem I have is that the majority of people are pro legalization and the House, Senate and Committee all approved / passed the Bill then the autocrat goes against the clear will of the people of Vermont and it's elected officials.   Guess he's got some Trump in him.

He made it clear that he will pass something, and he recognizes the will of the electorate and the lawmakers. He even said that he's convinced they'll have a plan by July, 2018. Okay, he's being a bit cautious. He's also planning on meeting with reps from Canada and neighboring states in New England, some of which have legalized.

Meanwhile, I have zero worries about getting popped. I also didn't like the bill as it was presented. My guess is that we'll get something a lot better.

scott wants a roadside test and an impairment level. that doesn't exist. it's different for everybody and calculating the nanograms in a persons blood doesn't represent a true intoxicated level. they need the GOP reps to push thru what scott now wants in the bills (like criminal penalties for smoking w/ children in the car, lol), though he isn't asking for their support....all in the 2 day veto session in mid june.

where do these people think all this cannabis comes from? someone has to grow it. what about those people? they're still looking at serious time if caught. yes i know, this bill didn't really do anything for them, but the tiny homegrown would've relieved some stress associated w/ it- and the commission was a good idea.

As to Scott giving it the veto I am not surprised one bit and knew his stance even though I voted for him. I am however fucking irate an appalled that he multiple times commented on how he would not be swayed by any of the thousands of calls his office was getting on the topic. Those are the voters whom He represents WTF??!!! He is not King and by going against the obvious will of Vermonter's he should be removed by whatever means possible what a fucking arrogant prick. Almost wish I had voted for carbon tax Sue no not really but wtf??

What Scott is really after is a computerized system running about 38,000 per patrol car that reads a cheek swap and instantly tests for many many substances including many prescription drugs as well. HIPPA violations?? These fuckers never learn they just want more toys and cash for them and seeing as the civil fine would go away with legalization they need a back up revenue source. Oh ya I am sure old Pat Leahy could grease the skids for a nice fat .GOV handout to help purchase these units too. Quite frankly if you need some device to find out if I am safe to drive you can go fuckyourself!! If one can pass a field sobriety test you should be free to go period!!

One last comment for me as well as lots of my friends here the 2 plants was a good start. In my case having past grow convictions and possessions means with any amount of pot I would get arrested no civil fine for me. Further I don't want or care to use a dispensary what I want is to grow a few at home for myself and not fear loosing my house or children that's is pretty simple. I know I am not alone in this there are lots of middle ages folks like me here that would love to grow a personal supply but it's just not worth the risk once you have a family and property. 2 plant rule would have at least let me live in a small bit of comfort with no fear of the cops.
