VLZone: Gone to the Dogs

Yesterday I posted a pic on Facebag of my pooch y  - because while I was getting ready for the day he'd buried himself under the covers of my bed like he owns the joint:



Someone on FB asked about an incident that went down about 6 months ago wo i recounted the tale about an old Tour Pal of mine who stopped by my house on his way back to his home in Maui.

My friend asked if he could dispose of the resinous remnants of a few old doobies from a stash of roaches he carried around.
Without thinking much about it I pointed at the under the kitchen sink trash bin indicating where I thought he should dispose of this stuff.

We partied that night and went over a lot of good times on tour in the 80's.

Next day I came home from work and my wfe said - "The dog is shaking and sick. You probably have to bring him to the Vet ER right now."
Sure enough our beloved Rotty / Lab mix, Rufus, was shaking like a junky on his dog bed.  Clearly he'd raided the trash but my wife had cleaned up the mess.

First thing the desk clerk at the Vet Clinic said upon taking a look at Roo was, "your dog is high."
(Bells rang in my head as I connected all the dots - DOH!)

Several hundred dollars later I had learned a valuable lesson about thoughtless carelessness and my dog.

But for some reason he seems to have the permanent munchies (cause he's part lab)...
