I don't have a horse in the race. Don't care who wins really. I would LOVE to see the Raptors win but if they don't, they don't.

I just love the Warrior's fans who like to talk a ton of shit when they win then hide/bitch when they lose.

As for my team, well, get back to me in a decade or two and we'll see where we are at then.

Going to be quite some time but I'm okay with that being the case. 

We won one and I'll take it! It was fun watching the best regular season team lose a 3-1 lead to the horrible Cavs.

And as we have discussed in the past, GSW most likely lose first year against the Cavs if Kyrie and Love weren't hurt.

I know they didn't win but if you are truly honest with yourself you'd have to wonder if the outcome would have been the same.

Same thing with this series. If the Raptors win, you and all the media will play the "what if" game. That's how it goes. It's natural.

I spent many a long drives home in '11 when the Cavs lost 26 in a row! 26 FUCKING GAMES IN A ROW!!!! Do you know how cold it gets in Cleveland in January and February???????

Anyway, that Friday night when they FINALLY beat the Clippers in OT it was like some crazy shit was lifted off my chest. I honestly couldn't believe they finally won A game.

I stayed in my seat and felt so proud. Sure it was dumb, but for reason it made all those cold, long miserable rides home worth it!!!!!!!

Ahhhh. Telling that story kind of brings a year to my eye.

And yes, let the best team win.

But we all know if Toronto wins the GSW are still the best team when healthy!

     Kind of a funny story about my first show at the Oakland Coliseum, I was on a Greyhound about to cross the California border for the first time, when a gentleman boarded the bus and sat beside me...he had a trash bag and a bottle of peppermint schnapps, as he sat beside me he said "Me name's leprechaun, nice to meet you!"  He mentioned that he was going to be married at the new year's show...I mentioned to him that it was my first time visiting California, as we crossed the state line he reached into his trash bag and pulled out an absolute trophy nug of the crème de la crème and said "Welcome to California!", I immediately packed the nug in someone's pipe and we smoked herb openly on the Greyhound having achieved strength in numbers at that point, the bus driver seemed completely ok with it, I will always treasure that moment...that was the last new year's run they allowed camping at the venue, it was a very special scene.

Well ive got good news for you then. The coliseum is going to stay in Oakland! Hopefully you’ll be able to watch people have sex there again some day. 

I too witnessed the wookies having sex several times in Oakland.. back of floor corners seem to be the hot spot. Saw the same thing in another city somewhere back east. Nobody seemed to pay much attention to them. Not all that surprising given we got BJ offers for tickets outside from sketchy looking wenches.. think that was the Arena. I recall one guy walking in front of us stating to his pals "hey I got an extra, see ya inside" and he spun around and headed to the bushes with his new found princess.. love is precious. 

Lots of memories in the Colliseum.  First time there was NYE Run 1988 also my first time visiting CA from PA.  Met folks that night from Chicago, that are still my buddies today. We stayed in one of the dumpy Motels within walking distance.  In line to check in, Super Dave asked my girlfriend and I if we were here for the Barry Manilow shows.... after that introduction, it was on.  By NYE 1989, I had moved to the bay, many shows in the building after that.

Saw my first NBA game at the Colliseum also.  Dated a guy who had season tix right next to the club seats.  I would ditch around the rail separating the steps and visit with George who was the really old Oakland security guard.  "Well Hello Miss D" he would greet me with a hug.  Then into the club I go.  The Warriors were pretty sucky 99-2001, but we saw some of the Greats perform on the opposing teams, big fun.

eh, I’m not sure if that’s valid.

The Warriors team without KD (which it has been through 2+ rounds) is more “organic” than Toronto. Siakam and Van Vleet are the only big Toronto players that they themselves drafted. They just traded for Kawhai and Danny Green last off-season. 

The Warriors, on the other hand, drafted Curry, Klang, Draymond and Looney. Iguodola, Livingston and Bogut (albeit with a few breaks) have been there for years. 

The Warriors are actually about as organic as it gets. I can’t recall many teams recently having three consistent all-stars on their roster that they themselves drafted. 

All that aside, they’re gonna need some black-magic fuckery to get out of this one.

Very impressive win for the Raptors.   Curry seemed to miss a bunch of threes at the beginning and never got his groove but honestly the raptors weren't getting calls (many of them) and they still pulled it off.   Besides Klang and maybe Green here and three it was hard to wath the dubs.  Quinn was useless (please stop shooting), Cousins barely played in the second half, and Curry was forcing foul calls ala Harden.   The raptors have force the dubs to get away from their team ball.   Back to Cousins, not sure why 1) he didn't play more and 2) why he didn't play defense.....I'm guessing those two are related.

No, they are just getting flat out beat in every aspect of the game. Raptors just got done back to back grind em out series with the other two best teams in the league. One 7 game that went down to the wire and then took down the team with the best record and the mvp in six. Warriors beat harden and the chokers and had an absolute snooze fest against Portland then had a very long extended break before the finals. The whole tired thing is just an excuse. They are just getting the floors mopped with them by a better team. This ain’t the Cavs. They couldn’t have had an easier path with more rest leading up to the finals, they aren’t tired they just getting their asses whooped. They have no bench players at all. That and they are getting out rebounded and out hustled. Maybe if these guys stop worrying about their tv shows they can get back into this series but if Durant’s not in the floor tonight just forget it, this shit is over. East taking back over the league. West was just weak as hell this year man. Warriors competition leading up just wasn’t on the same plain. Injuries are what they are but this team without Duran is just no comparison.

Blaming KD’s injury on the Warriors is the dumbest thing ever. He is an adult millionaire who employees a team of advisors and doctors whose only job -  is to look out for his interest. There was no financial pressure at all to play. He could have sat out and would still be payed both for this season and future seasons. He played on a team with a former super star who was just went through this injury and got to see first hand how difficult it would be to recover from this kind of injury.

Is there pressure to play in the NBA injured? Absolutely, but he was as protected from that pressure as a person can be. KD decided to play, and KD will live a fine life no matter what happens in the future. If you want to feel sorry for someone save it for Bo Jackson.

KD now stays with dubs....taking the one year option, misses the year, returns for the playoffs, dubs win.   Very disappointing for him after a whopping 12 minutes.  

I know I shouldn't count the dubs out but if I was a betting man I'd put my money on the Raptors.

Actually none of know how it went down so this is really all speculation. 

BUT it does raise an interesting point and one that has been debated for a long time. When a player is injured and under contract, how much pressure can or should a team exert and also how to keep athletes who are born to play a competitive game keep from hurting themselves further when they are injured and WANT TO PLAY. 

I believe most pro athletes want to play unless they physically can’t. The INTERNAL pressure KD must have felt, his team being one loss away from losing in the finals, it must have been insane. I truly hope that the Warriors management and team of doctors wouldn’t pressure ANYONE to play knowing they were potentially going to suffer a catastrophic injury. 

Like I said, no one here truly knows what happened because we weren’t there. 

Hopefully KD recovers 100% from this and eventually becomes his old self again, but I imagine this episode will prove a cautionary tale to athletes who are thinking about playing through an injury, ESPECIALLY WHEN their contract is about to expire.
