Was Hunter ever at Terrapin Crossroads?

Forums:

Did Hunter ever get there (to play or just visit)?

I just read that Hunter lived right in San Rafael. I've always thought that Terrapin Crossroads could be a home base for many in the GD community (of course, it is for many). It's such a wonderful place with so much music. I've only gotten there once in person (from the east coast) so far. But, I'm planning that return visit.

I'm super glad I caught Hunter play several times.

Maybe it's pure nostalgia, but I think of him living just a few miles down the street from this amazing creation that Phil put together later in life.

Hunter passing definitely has me reflecting a lot.

He never performed there, which is a shame, and I doubt he ever went there, as he seemed to never be interested in much of anything GD related since Jerry died, and even before that.

He toured with the dead in '06, and maintained dead.net for a long while. I think he was interested at least for the first decade or so. there was a change in the website around then that squeezed him out, and he might have had some sour feelings after that about the organization.

he was outraged that they didn't serve sourdough bread.

I'd be outraged about that too. Sourdough rules.

Hunter lived in San Rafael? I always assumed he had an overgrown dwelling out in Sebastopol or something.

Hunter toured opening for The Dead in 2004.

Played 'tween TOO sets in '02.

He would've been more outraged with the guitarists playing his music than the bread imo.

More likely, he'd have acknowledged every one of them was better than him.

Maybe save your outrage for the Philoween run?

I know he toured and opened for the various incarnations, but he was getting paid to do that.

I don't think he'd of been much interested in hanging around TxR just to see or be seen though.

Still, the clubhouse and the seen was hopping pretty good tonight.

Happy birthday Melvin Seals.

On it goes.

The music will go on.

He has a River house in Villa Grande ...

It sure was! HBD Melvin! It was nice to see the photos of RH gracing the stage and walls in the Grate room!
