Sorry to hear this California.

U.S. Allows Nestlé to Keep Piping Water From Drought-Ridden Southern California.

The U.S. Forest Service offered Nestlé a three-year permit on Wednesday to keep taking millions of gallons of water from the San Bernardino National Forest in California, the Associated Press reported.

Don't buy arrowhead water?

Slacker, why are you always in troll mode?

>>> Don't buy arrowhead water?

Ender - You asking because you're generally concerned about this?

or

Just being a smart ass?

Sorry, just can't tell with you.

Ender is correct. Don't buy Arrowhead water.

Half step, welcome to Viva. Do what Tod tells you to do.

>>> Ender is correct. Don't buy Arrowhead water.

If you want a LARGER scope of Nestlé.

Here's a list if your interested.

This is a selected list of the main brands owned by Nestlé. Overall, Nestlé owns over 2000 brands in over 150 countries.

The list is at Wiki under Nestlé.

If we're working outside in the hot sun and the boss brings around a bag of Arrowhead waters, can we drink one to stay hydrated if we don't have anything else?

Yeah, it's got a 250B market cap. Not sure why you'd want to avoid their pizzas or chocolate - they have nothing to do with your water.

Slack -

Some people care about issues like draining aquifers for profit,

affecting Millions of people.

You're free to do what you want, I'm not telling ANYBODY what to do.

Hope this finally clears this ^^^ up.

BTW, Water IS Life

Tod, I've been in California for 42 years. I didn't know anything about our water issues. I thought we drank from the ocean.

I mean....   with our economic picture the way it is AND a $250B market cap.... we should just let them drain anything they like, as long as there's profit!   Amirite?

Imagine the ripple effect it could have on our beloved markets if such a large corp couldn't profit!   crying

Sadly, we DEPEND on companies like this to keep our economy afloat.  America, fuck yeah!

>> America, fuck yeah!

It's a Swiss company.

Fuck Nestle and anyone that buys their(our) water!!!!

If I got the feeling that they cared one bit, just one bit, about people having adequate pure water from a local source and not draining it for Nestle's profit, I'd think about feeling better about their actions.

>>> Not sure why you'd want to avoid their pizzas or chocolate - they have nothing to do with your water. <<<

Isn't Nestle Nestle? Isn't the chocolate the same company as the company trying to buy our water for sale? If one doesn't approve of their actions in one regard, doesn't that transfer across the brand?

if ender were taller perhaps he could see the forest for the trees?

>> Isn't Nestle Nestle? Isn't the chocolate the same company as the company trying to buy our water for sale? If one doesn't approve of their actions in one regard, doesn't that transfer across the brand?

Arrowhead Water has an estimated  annual revenue of $42.1M.  Nestle has an annual revenue of $89.8 billion.  So Arrowhead Water is 0.047% of Nestle's revenue.

It would be like be like boycotting New York City because you don't a particular hot dog vendor.

>>>we should just let them drain anything they like<<<

We don't LET them do anything. They are the super rich, they do whatever they want.

And not buying their products is fine, but IMO that only makes us feel better about ourselves individually, it has no effect on them, because since they own everything they're gonna' get our money one way or another.

Arrowhead water has been around a long time, long long time(1909), the nestle ownership is fairly new(1987).  So would it be ok if nestle didn’t own arrowhead?  They bottled water for 80 years before nestle came around.  Arrowhead was the official water of the 32 and 84 olympics.

i drink arrowhead, better than my rusty tap water

>>>>It's a Swiss company.

The U.S. Forest Service isn't....yet.

Thanks for the laugh, Slacker!  laugh

I'm wondering how the Central Valley nut farmers feel about this issue.  Paging Oaksterdan.

If one doesn't approve of their actions in one regard, doesn't that transfer across the brand?>>>>

yes it should in most cases.

Slacker, is that you with the batman shirt?

Yes. Taking my unibrow and family to JuuuuuJuuu/Mastadon/Primus at the Greek.

We'll probably buy a few Arrowheads while we're there.

Slack....youre a pool guy...you may wanna bone up on some water.....maybe i should rephrase....

Oh, fuck it...

Never mind

Jambone, do up you think I waste water?

No, slack, i dont up you think you waste water

Lol, Fog
