I know you are familiar with Jesse Malin, Is this record he did with Ryan Adams any good? Its hardcore punk from what little I can hear on itunes. My spority free account won't open and they don'r respond to email, so I can't listen to the whole thing. Plus first hand knowledge is better :)

This album is not one I would recommend to someone unless they were big Blag Flag/Minor Threat/Bad Brains fans AND had a solid knowledge of the hard core scene; which it pokes humorous fun at. If you don't know what the joke is poking fun at, you miss a big part of those EPs. If you want to listen to We Are Fuck You and Punk's Dead Let's Fuck, here's a link to both EPs on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHAMXJxhEuI&list=PLiUCnEBXYb_6AVKDUqtMjWFFiI7cTFdjS

Bump enlightened

yes thank you bump for answers I almost forgot about this

The Smithereens featuring guest Vocalist Marshall Crenshaw

if its a one off or a permanent hook up, it will be great, Marshall can add some of his own great songs to the Smithereens large volume of work. His first record, at least the first I knew about with Someday, Someway, is great and just another record I have to thank NYC legend DJ Vin Scelsa for

Thanks for thinking about me, RRG. I miss Pat something fierce and have not gone to any of the new shows with Crenshaw as of yet. Marshall and Robin Ford of The Gin Blossoms have been switching vocalist duties for The Smithereens during their recent dates. Both have been well received.

Marshall Crenshaw has a very deep connection to The Smithereens. He was an engineer for their first album, Especially For You. While I don't think anyone can replace that voice of Pat's, Crenshaw has the soul to fill in.
