What is that thing?

Hi Zoners, My friends and I have been joking and wondering what this weird device we often see onstage is?  It's the clear plastic tube thingy with coils in it just behind and to the left of Headband.  The latest guess is in fact Jewish space laser!  Thanks in advance, I know Zoners would know the answer, or at least have funny guesses!

Spare headband cannon.

Pedal-activated.

Equal parts art and science.

it's a transmogrifier

It's called a helical antenna, it receives signal from eaton's wireless set

Probably a Shure HA241 or 8089 to be specific

Oh come on, transmogrifier was a more fun answer! :)

It's a portable long distance hair dryer to give Fake Bobby that oh so perfect windblown Weir look when they re-create the 90s shows.

DId you ever wonder how DSO gets their sound to sound just like any GD era?

It's a flux capacitor.

Qu'est-ce que c'est flux capacitator?

LOL

Actually, I heard it was an anti-Bill Walton ray gun to keep him away from backstage telling the same "I'm the biggest deadhead" stories over and over and over again...

Acid gas dispenser?

That venue looks to be the Crest Theater in Sacramento. Cool photo. I've never seen a show there but have always heard good things about the place.

It's a Telephunkin U47......with leather

Thanks for the fun answers, and one actual real one.  Yes, that is the Crest theater in Sac.  Pretty cool old downtown venue.  Plenty of bars and restaurants nearby.  Great sound and perhaps the most chill staff at a show I've seen in a while.  Walked in with a beer and no one cared.

Je suppose que vous plaisantez parce que vous avez écrit en français.
