What's are your Fav kicks?(Under$100 edition)

Forums:

My favorite pair of Patagonias exploded this weekend. They don't make em anymore so I'm open for suggestion. Vans were to narrow for my portly food. Any ideas? Thanks

saw someone use the old saying the other day "buy american"

decided to goo goo "american made sneakers"

options were limited.

1. new balance

2. new balance

red wing was the only other sneaker on the list i have ever even heard of.

from now on im going to give new balance a much better look when buying sneakers. made in massachusetts btw

Hard to find wide sizes. I usually resort to the web. Sperry has multiple options for the wide footed folks.

Vans checkered

Nups flying shoes were pretty sweet.  The air Jordans not so much.

hillary folks costing americans their jobs again

New Balance is my every-day shoe. However, I just bought a pair of Red Wing boots. Both of these have enough room for my wide feet.

makes perfect sense. wide footed american shoe makers know what other americans need.

little starving vietnamese children have skinny feet and run around barefoot

New balance don't make shoes in USA no more

My Keens were made in Portland Oregon

well wiki is a bit hazy. i stand corrected but it does appear at least some are made in the USA

I think that's correct.

new balance don't fit me

Converse Chuck Taylors....comfy canvas goodness

Grabbed a nice pair of Keens sunday at Nordstrom Rack, just checked the label, made in China, WTF...

Pretty sure New Balance is also assembled overseas, or some of them. They were much better quality and fit a few years back, when they starting farming out to china they went downhill. Still one of the only brands that i can fit my foot into, surprised the Keens fit.

Went out looking for a pair of new balances for work and they were all made in Indonesia. Maybe some still made in USA but I can't find em.

Zappos has a good selection of Wide, great customer service also on returns. Their search engine also is nice. On returns you have to request a USPS return label or they send you a UPS..

I love my keens!

For under 100? Chacos still...

over 100? Alden

birks

New Balance are the official white person sneaker

did I read that here?

not sure

Depends on whether you need arch support.  I wore chucks and sambas almost exclusively my whole life, but now I need a little sumpin sumpin in there--although I did find some insoles which might work in my chuck high tops.  Last sneaker search I ended up with New Balance but that was mainly because it it was the only pair of running shoes in a  color palate I could handle.

You might want to go to a megalo shoe mart like CSW. I went to REI, the running shoe store, and the new balance store and didn't find shit that I actually wanted to wear.  I do have some Keen boots that are pretty swell feeling and get lots of wear in the winter. If you are looking for a more booty-look, they are great for the wider foot.

Clarks make some really nice shoes, well made, wide and under $100.

I like ASICS, Adidas and Pumas for "running shoes". I learned recently that ASICS is a Latin acronym, and that Adidas and Puma were founded by two German brothers who were not on speaking terms for half a century. They fiercely hated each other.

Nikes are way too narrow.

I like my Mefcanti Florentis. They were like 85$. Lasted over two years. No laces. Can wear on many different occasions.

Clarks look nice Thanks! I never would have looked into them. Hope they fit as comfortable as they look.

Check a store in your local mall called The Walking Store. Carries Clarks and other good brands.
