What's your favorite GD pump-up song?

Forums:

hey hey Zoners, I am back in Portland and for the next few months am employed by my old bureau at the City of Portland, but focusing only on the Portland Clean Energy Fund. The good thing is that I am 100% remote and am still job hunting in NoCal.

In my first team meeting today, I was overjoyed to learn that they have a "pump-up" playlist on YouTube (like those walk-on songs baseball players have).

Their list is pretty interesting.... now I get to add my own... looking for recommendations for GD pump-up songs, bring it!

Which GD songs make you brave to face the world (or go to bat) when you don't want to?

Keep Your Day Job

(kidding) I'm working to the Phish jams only website now. No words. Great for stone carving. Kimock instrumental is always good, too.

I love Kimock. What's that Phish instrumental URL, pls?

The pump song?

Alabama Get Away, Passenger, and Greatest Story Ever Told

So you physically still down in Cali then?

Fantastic news, Lloloollol.

Saturday Night,of course.

Ah huh.

Touch of Grey

I don't think the song would be appropriate for a Monday morning team builder meeting.

Hell In A Bucket

Probably not France.

The Golden Road (To Unlimited Devotion)

Yes I have also been digging Phish jams at work, there are some "ambient" jam compilations on YouTube that are really great listening, and nobody who walks by even guesses it's Phish, which is just fine with me...

What's that URL, Stoner?

Oh, and for pump-up songs, I would go with Not Fade Away, Lovelight, Shakedown Street, Midnight Hour...  Even the studio version of Touch of Grey is a pretty upbeat groove.

Maybe stay away from Schoolgirl, in today's professional/cultural climate...

LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL

OR

I NEED A MIRACLE

Thanks for these good ideas!   Shakedown -- yes, that's a great pump-up song -- some SF Giant player should use that.

I also like Standing on the Moon (the verse about San Francisco always gets me) and The Wheel.

PortlandKen -- I'm actually in Portland... but if anyone needs a housesitter in the Bay Area (or Hawaii ;), hit me up -- this temp contract allows me to work from anywhere!
Was thinking of returning for that Zero Fillmore show but with Omicronic that probably isn't a good idea, right?  ... so send me your best dates for a micro-brew meetup in Portland... need to get out of the house.

I have some stuff in storage with friends in Occidental, just got to win a Cali job -- nothing yet.

Bucket or Gimme Some Lovin'

Not a GD song, but the GD version of Hey Pocky Way.

Another good one, thanks!  Love Hey Pocky Way.

Run for the Roses also makes me prance around like a nut and sing with confidence, though out of tune, LOL.

Also going to include Bob Marley's Jammin, as that's a great walk-out song.

Take it to the bridge!

In particular, the bridges to He's Gone and Ramble on Rose.

^^^ Nice!  Will give a listen. This has turned out to be a fun exercise this eve...

Found this version of Shakedown from Germany, check out Phil!   https://youtu.be/0CgM6s1LLuY

I'm not a Phish head by any stretch of the imagination, but this site sure makes for good work music.

SHHHHHHHAAAAAKKKKKKEEEEEEDDDDOOOOOOWWWWWNNNNNN

The 11

The Music Never Stopped (been listening to some live '77 versions recently).

It has that great funky bass line that puts a smile on my face as soon as it starts.

First song to pop into my head is Bertha. I am sitting outside on the deck at Mt Hood Meadows right now and they are cranking Sugaree, another possible choice

Love these additions -- The 11 and Bertha are an energizing pair.

Wngfan I'm envious of your weekday at Mt Hood Meadows. Dreaming of skiing again but other priorities always get in the way.

If you ever see 2 crazy old boarders in matching acid yellow jumpsuits, they are good buddies of mine -- Milo and Tigger.

I snuck out for a hot springs / wrap / sauna session up at Carson the other day, though!  Snowshoeing is next up.

Might as Well

LLOLLO, sounds like you are making the most with your time back in Portland! Fun sunny day on the mountain today. Now I am off to a kegger in Gov''y. Cheers!

franklin's tower turned up to 11

Devil with a blue dress>Good golly miss molly

And yes, Playing In The Band, or as already mentioned The Pump Song, would usually get the adrenaline firing.  For me, it's the main Group Mind/Collective Consciousness song.

see that girl barefootin along....... it ain even begun

^^^^ laugh

I bet Will Farrell or Sacha Baron Cohen could fool a few folks acting all pumped for Samba In The Rain.

Rip Roarin Ass Alligator

((((GFish))))

for a phish tune:

Sparkle

Possum

Metallica:

Breadfan

As much as I want there to be one, I don't think of the GD in the same way such Eye of Tiger or something such as:

Cheese NYE kinda comes close with a similar, but more paced ramp up with:
