When Making Music Breaks Your Body

So, even the pros have to overcome shit posture/technique habits that lead to boo-boos.

 

The Kottke bit with fingerpicks/long nails changing the angle/tension on one's picking-side wrist is very familiar to me.

I'm having issues with the opposite wrist.  Fortunately, it hurts after playing and not during.  More fortunately, I know what's causing it and am addressing it.  

 

 

I thought this might be about Big Steve's weed brand as a source of relief.

I've had ups and downs with repetitive use injuries from guitar playing but I've learned the benefits of warm-ups, rest periods and stretches and fascia breaking massage techniques. There have been times when I thought my playing days were over but recovered through physical therapy exercises. I have mild tinnitus that comes from a lifetime of concerts and production work and a lower back that sometimes gets back at me for my roadie days in the 80s. I'm doing alright........
