And that was just what was going on on the stage..

The 10th and final 'Farewell Tour'

>And that was just what was going on on the stage..<

Ha...that's funny

Does anyone remember having music class in junior high school? Not performance. Just as a class subject, like art, home economics, or industrial arts.

We had a substitute teacher in 8th grade who had us study Tommy for a semester. No shit, we all just had to sit there and listen to the album over and over and write papers about it.

Except for "Fiddle About."  John Entwistle was a major perv. He wrote "Cousin Kevin," too -- another song about sadistic child abuse.

I heard they wanted to name the farewell tour "Won't Get Fooled Again "

They're ending it in Vegas. The same place where Entwistle checked out, coked to the gills with a Deja Vu Showgirls stripper 23 years ago.

The most rock and roll death of all time.

Any chance to see Pete Townshend play electric guitar is a good opportunity, but ever since they hired that nepo dishwasher to play drums and then stayed with him over the years there's been no 'there' there.

That, along with the likely prices make The Who's Left an unfortunate but easy pass.

I got sucked into seeing them with a buddy after their Endless Wire album. It was mostly awful but they encored with half of Tommy and I was reminded Who they were.

I still regret missing the Townsend solo shows at the Fillmore. But hard pass on this tour

Calling a band The Who without John Entwistle is like calling Dead & Co the Grateful Dead.

John Entwistle was as much the backbone of The Who as Phil was for the GD. John Entwistle was a force to be reckoned with and arguably the most underrated bass player in Rock n' Roll history!

Roger is a wanker

I watched a clip for the Teenage Cancer Trust show earlier this year. I'll be surprised if they complete this tour. Pete looked like he could, Roger looked like he was about to keel over.

Seem them a couple times over the years, but thought their last tour with the orchestra was lame.   Sorry, but Eminence Front and Who Are You don't need a string section and I am not a fan of rock bands playing with orchestras in general (but it worked on some of the Quadrophenia stuff).   And yes, Roger is a wanker.   He stopped the show at one point because someone messed up and I am pretty sure that the "scream" in Won't Get Fooled Again was totally canned or at least was supported by a backing track.

He's more insufferable than van Morrison

drummer is the least of the faults, really

i wonder what Pino's post-who gig will be?

Saw them at Berzerkely Community in May 1970.  Great show - they did Tommy and finished with some of Live at Leeds (Summertime Blues). Everyone who left the theater could barely hear for 48 hours after the show.

Fell out after that - except when they played with Grateful Dead in 76 . Dead were great -  Who not so much - to me, although I would have liked to  have seen them at Winterland that time -- shut OUT.

NO!

i love that "dishwasher" is now a perjorative that applies to bands outside of the txr world

I hate that "dishwasher" is a pejorative, anywhere.

Nepo dishwasher is kind of a cool construction though. Like an oxymoron almost.

Loved them @ The Gorge in 2000 right before JE kicked. Never considered them after that without the Ox...

>>>>>>I am pretty sure that the "scream" in Won't Get Fooled Again was totally canned or at least was supported by a backing track.

He's been using the scream backing track on WGFA and Love Reign O'er Me since 2012.
