They’re a bit passé these days, but they’re still pretty fun.

I just have a stock 2007 quantum and it’s still probably one of the nicest things I’ll ever own.

remember in the late 90’s/early 2000’s when it seemed like everyone was using one, from rusted root’s bassist to cannibal corpse’s?

I'm pretty sure the most correct answer, although past tense, would have to be John Entwistle of The Who with his Modulus Buzzard bass.

entwistle played Warwick, modulus, and status basses - all in the buzzard configuration.

It’s interesting how billy seems far more associated  with modulus in people’s minds than sears but isn’t the main bass he uses that isn’t the stolen starship dragon alembic a modulus that he went back to even after the return of the long sought after custom alembic bass?

Yes it’s a VJ

After the honeymoon period, I think Pete realized the Irwin wasn’t the appropriate instrument to be playing club gigs with 5 nights a week.

I absolutely love my Quantum 5! It is so articulate and beefy as well. It has ruined me from most other instruments in regards to stability and consistency. It’s so even across the whole board. Every time I pick it up, it’s exactly the way I want it to be. The neck just does not move! I have really considered getting a TBX, but my concern is that I will abandon this bass I have now and that would be a horrendous crime. If you have played one, you know why people who love them, LOVE them!

Yes - Long Distance Runaround - Squire & Bruford Isolated Tracks - Bass & Drums

An unnamed individual dropped Pete’s long lost bass and broke the headstock from what I have heard it’s now hanging on the wall

Also Billy presents his base more upfront    While I think Pete holds his  with the neck more upright like an acoustic much of the time

more stories please

When I first saw the David Nelson band, billy was beating the crap out of that same bass. Has anybody seen him play another (outside of acoustic or guest sit-in situation) ? That was in 2000. (Barry was playing a red ESP strat copy, David his bender equipped blonde tele). Really speaks to the durability I’ve heard every modulus owner speak very adamantly about. Billy’s strap is slung as low as any other bass player I can think of except maybe Mona. Not a musician myself just a gear junkie/tech weenie with an affinity for the rhythm section. Love to see some pics of your guys axes.

Alright, since you asked smiley
