wired headphone amps/DAC ?

Forums:

Any ever use an inline portable amp/dac for their headphones?  Worth it?   like this:

For on the go use with "slightly" compressed files and quality over-the-ear cans.

Just curious.

yes, totally worth it. be warned, quality DAC listening will ruin all other music. this one is hot:

wow. That one looks great. THX.

I don’t use this product by my McIntosh integrated amp with a built in DAC does an awesome job with the playing of Flac files from my laptop

I love it.

fly, whatcha scoop ?

peach tree makes great reasonable priced stuff

Schiit is the shit!. I use a Fulla 2 to drive my Sennheiser 555’s and it changed my listening habits. The most cost-effective solution I could find.

So these are for boosting the signal to your headphones,  kind of like an overdrive?

Hey Lava-  nothing yet. That mcintosh looks sweet but pricey until i just pull the trigger. :)  I would like the lowest profile I could find though, since its intended for my portable devices.  I'll look at peachtree. ans schlit too!   Sorta why i asked. Thanks gang!  Anyone use the dragonfly line?  cheap but maybe to cheap. and more for laptops.

Yeah Tom, as I I understand, it will bypass your device and use its own Digital Converter to enhance (or ruinsmiley ) your tunes AND some also serve as an amp to help good headphones reach full potential. Like loud.  But they all differ a bit. good little read:    https://www.crutchfield.com/S-BrmLkN8luVY/learn/choosing-a-digital-to-an...

so looking at small, portable, NOT bluetooth.  And of course you have to consider source files. thx again y'all
