Cool.  I was wondering if wolf bros would keep going.

Bob sure does love to play.

This band has a great rhythm section.

I wonder if Bobby's next band will play slower than this band?
That seems to be the trend.

"Bob sure does love to play."

Bob is addicted to the attention of a crowd.

or he loves to play.

Thom was once in that crowd.

Thom is addicted to the attention of a crowd, also

Damn Thom, you really don't pay attention, do you?

Or else you're just negative for no good reason.

I guess I should have said that Bob really loves to play live music to an audience; big shows or small, he just loves to play. And yeah, he probably does dig the reaction he gets from an audience, is there something wrong with that?

For me personally I don't care for the Wolf Brothers and I wouldn't go to a show if it were free, but I don't begrudge Bob for wanting to hit the road and play music in small venues with his friends.

Why do you?

This band REALLY needs a lead guitar player...or keys...or sax...(no accordions)...

Caught em earlier this year. Subtle Bob plays Wolf Bros magic. Love that bands groove. Possibly Burlington, weather permitting.

He don't scream too much these days, but did ya ever notice how most of Bobby's GD yelps sound like he's gettin' bit by a dog ? Check it out next listen, and see if you don't agree.

I don’t think it needs anything

Sloth Bros.

They just cancelled the whole tour.  Hope Bob and Co.  are okay.

It says just the last two shows and that they're looking for alternative dates.

Did u read the story?

You know, I must have mis-read that.  Glad to hear it's just two shows and not the whole tour.

>>>>This band REALLY needs a lead guitar player<<<<

Steve Kimock please

Saw Scott Law on Sunday, his twangy side would be great with Bob

Can Bobby wind up the metronome, and slide that weight down a bit??

Bobbys’ tempo is todays’ Donna Jean

If there's a complaint these days about Weir's music, it's that he favors playing the Dead repertoire too slowly for some fans' tastes. One Internet wag recently suggested listening to Dead & Company recordings at 1.5-times speed.

“I'm looking for the most possible harmonic content from the string,” Weir says. “To get that, you have to be able to hang a note and let it change colors for you, because it will if you let it.… I love to listen to the sound of my fucking instrument. I don't play the guitar for no reason. There's so many things you can do with it. But you can't do them quickly. At least I haven't been able to figure out how to.”

There is only one other subject in our conversations that sparks Weir to, if not quite anger, at least defiance: the question of whether he should be playing the songs that Garcia once sang. Immediately after Garcia's death, he felt emotionally unprepared to do so, but “six months or a year in, it became real apparent that these songs needed to live and breathe.” There are fans, he knows, who take exception. “There are some folks who don't particularly like the cut of my jib, who feel that no one has the right to sing those songs.”

What is his answer to those people? Weir shrugs and throws open his hands in a gesture of futility:

“Don't come to my shows.”

Fuckin love Bob

Deadheads criticizing Bob are just opinions, which as we all know, are just like assholes.

Looking forward to it, doing...

>>Deadheads criticizing Bob

This is not something new. Deadheads have been criticizing Bob since I started following the band in the early 1970s.

I do not like Bob's cut of his jib without a lead guitar player. Wasn't down with it in the late 80's with Weir/Wasserman and I'm still not into it.  That doesn't negate the fact that he's still Bobby F'n Weir.

Might not fit Bobby fan's in Maine but there's talk that those canceled dates will be shifted to the Palace in Waterbury CT.  Though I'm sure several venues in northern NE are in talks w/band management.

Yeah, whenever I heard a Sideshow Bob comment, I'd just laugh at it. He was Jerry's guitar player, if that wasn't good enough for em, they're obviously Jack asses.

Palace Waterbury would suit me just fine.

Too many shows where the bonding with Bob took place. But one in particular has to be the week after Jerry passed, he played the Springfield Symphony Hall. Special from start to finish, and by the time Knockin finished and complete strangers are in each others arms either sobbing or consoling or both -- from that show on all Bob is super special to me.

Love every time the ol balladeer touches a guitar
