Work Song

Forums:

Work Song is a composition by jazz musician Nat Adderley. The original version, recorded for the 1960 Riverside LP to bear that same name, features a cast of players including Bobby Timmons, and Wes Montgomery. It is considered a "bluesy," "funky" jazz classic, which has now become a songbook 'standard' for pop and jazz performers.

'Work Song.'

Here's our version of it from the Red White and Blues Festival in Corvallis, OR, July 4th 2006.  We use to open up the show with it (or Dr Johns Right place / wrong time);

Nice cut, Noodler. I've never heard the version with lyrics until now.

Can't go wrong with a really great song, along with "Compared to What", another greatest song ever written (and worthy of covering, don't have one of our versions online, so...)
