Sunday, Monday, Tuesday...mostly sunny

Yeah but it’s a dry heat.

My folks drove us through Death Valley once when I was a kid.  My Dad pulled over at some overlook.  It was late in the day with the sun going down, but the metal rail was too hot to sit-on.  It was like being inside a convection oven.  The car's AC never felt so good.

Yesterday, Kai and I drove from Williams, AZ, through Needles>Barstow>Bakersfield and back to Berkeley, CA..

Yes, it was hot.  But, fortunately, we got through Needles around 8AM and it was only about 103 at that time.  Car thermometer peaked at 113 just North of Bakersfield.

Thank god for air conditioning!

At 2 AM, a 1004 mb low was over Needles and a 1016 mb high was 300 miles southwest of San Diego. Weak to occasionally moderate onshore flow will prevail through the early part of the week, with a weak coastal eddy at times in the mornings.

90+/90+ from Late May to mid October

I hate summer but I sure love human discomfort

When you drove through Bakersfield did a man come on the radio and say you know you always have the Lord by your side??

A few years back my wife and I stopped to make a pita sammy in the shade of the hatchback and by time we finished making the said sammy the pita was toasted.
