In other news but related, there is a family across the street from me. A couple and their two small children. I haven't noticed the husband around but assumed he was working extra hours, but his wife informed me that a few months ago it was time for his work permit to be renewed. He was nervous because of the current climate and because he's not fully legal. Their lawyer said it would be worse if he was caught without work permit and illegal, and he probably had nothing to worry about, especially since he was not a criminal and trying to be legit. 

Unfortunately, this time, they didn't let his wife (who is a citizen) join him like all previous times, and they detained him, then deported him, not letting him say goodbye to his family. He's back in Chiapas and has been banned for 10 years. 

You know, I blame Congress for failing to fix DACA, but I blame Donald & his party for cruelly breaking up families to score political points. 

My neighbor's wife is a proud mexican american and she doubled down on working & taking care of those kids without her husband or family nearby, but you know this is playing out across the country and is frankly disgusting and terrible

My neighbor's lawn guy has to go into a hearing this month. In preparation my neighbor started getting quotes in case he is deported which he will be. Every quote came in more than double what she is paying now. 

Saw the story of the guy in the Villages looking at his half built house with no workers saying this isn't what he voted for except for the fact that they all held up Mass Deportation signs at the Republican convention. 

I don't see any possibility of LA getting rebuilt after the fires. Maybe those white South African refugees can help out. 

American's are so fucking stupid.
