Zero - Baltimore Soundstage 10-30-2022

Forums:

Wow. I've seen a lot of versions of this band over the past 37 years, and this one is really good. I highly recommend a listen to last night's show.

Kimock was in a great mood and played superbly. Ron Holloway sat in and added sax to Hadi Al Saadoon's  trumpet, so it was very reminiscent of old Zero.

The new singer is getting comfortable with the Hunter material and did a great job on vocals. I think Pete Sears plays his "free-est" in this band, so his skillset is on full display. Johnny Kimock added the youthful energy to Anton's drumming.

As an added treat, they encored with a tribute to Robyn Sylvester and did maybe the best Morning Dew I've heard since Jerry. Check it out.

^ Kimock telling some jokes to crowd: "Vote Republican and you'll never have to vote again."

Jai guru deva.

Damn he's gotten grey and aged very fast.

If we didn't get covid (our first indoor "bar" show in almost three years?), I'll consider this the best music event I've been to since the pandemic started.

It helped that this was a hometown show and I ran into people I hadn't seen in quite some time. That's always fun.
