13 Dems Join Repubs To Kill Cheaper Meds

this past wednesday, january 11th, 13 democrats joined the republican party to kill an amendment that would allow americans to buy cheaper prescription drugs from canada, a health care initiative overwhelmingly supported by about 70% of the country.

below is a list of the 13 democrats who voted to prevent all of us from buying cheaper medication, these democrats also receive more money from the pharmaceutical industry than their party colleagues, in the senate, with cory booker receiving the most corporate money.

democrats, like this group of 13, who place corporate profit over everyday americans will prevent the dp from winning in 2018 and 2020. tell these politicians 'no', if you're a citizen in one of these states, please click their name to contact your senator.

No surprise on Booker and menendez, lots of pharmaceutical companies make their home in Jersey.

People in these states, Call. It only takes a minute and it does matter.

not surprised that both senators from nj voted this way, but is it acceptable?

Booker said he supports the importation of prescription drugs but that “any plan to allow the importation of prescription medications should also include consumer protections that ensure foreign drugs meet American safety standards. I opposed an amendment put forward last night that didn’t meet this test.”

The safety excuse is mostly a chimera, as most of the drugs that would be imported from Canada were originally manufactured in the United States; they’re just cheaper there, because the Canadian government uses a review board and price negotiation to make drugs more affordable.

Not acceptable, but informative.  Booker is not the progressive folks would like him to be.
