“I’m not going to let him disrespect my legacy like that,” James told ESPN on Monday after the defending NBA champs lost to the Dallas Mavericks, 104-97. “I’m not the one who threw somebody through a window. I never spit on a kid. I never had unpaid debt in Las Vegas. I never said, ‘I’m not a role model.’ I never showed up to All-Star Weekend on Sunday because I was in Vegas all weekend partying.”
“All I’ve done for my entire career is represent the NBA the right way. Fourteen years, never got in trouble. Respected the game. Print that,” he said.
Its about time someone told that twat to shut up. Its like he completely forgets he never won shit in his career.

Not defending Barkley, but he
Not defending Barkley, but he was MVP in 1993. The biggest criticism I have for James is that his free agent tour was obnoxious.

Charles is actually pretty cool. He even bought me a drink after the Kick 6 (well, he bought the whole bar a drink). Had he played for bama you'd crawl a mile across broken glass to suck his ---- and you know it, Ned.

^rick, the fans in Philly
^rick, the fans in Philly loved Barkley, they were pretty forgiving. It's like Jimmy Lynam says, "It's just Charles being Charles."

Michael was the true most valuable player that year.
They just wanted someone new.

True and Jordan's value transcended his play on the court, but the Suns had the league's best record(62- 20) and Barkley did get the Suns over the hump and into the finals.

No way Rick.. I was always a Bird man myself. Charles Barkely has always had a nasty attitude. AS for players from this state, I would take Robert Horry over Barkely any day.. 7 rings to 0. Barkley was all hot air.

Horry was just along for the ride. Not comparable. Fine he hit a couple of big shots but he should have when he was surrounded by stars.
Barkley isn't as great as he thought he was but he pulled his own weight...ish

James should have come back
James should have come back talking about Barkley's statement about how a team shouldn't feel like they have to win a title every year.
Charles thinking that way might be why he never won anything in his life.
I think Lebron is happy to be in the group who did feel they had to win the title every year--folks like Bird and Russell and Magic and Michael.
Can't believe he let that one alone.

I think it's key that he
I think it's key that he admits he's chasing MJ. Kind of painful to see him do so because then you just wonder if it's just numbers no matter how he gets there. I.e lets just buy our way to me (James) having more titles than anyone. They already have the highest payroll and he wants them to go higher. Comes across as very self important....me me me...instead of being a leader (we can do this with whatever we have).
However, one could argue the Cavs ownership is stupid not to give him everything he wants. He's going to make them millions in marketing far after he's gone and to make claim that he's the best ever would only help them put long term dollars in their pockets.

I get your points but I don't
I get your points but I don't find it entitled at all. He knows basketball and he knows they don't have enough right now to beat the Warriors.
He's using all of his tools to try to get ownership to get what that team needs. Obviously, he knows it's going to be pretty difficult but he's doing what he can.
The one thing I've always liked about him is his hunger. Barkley could have used a lot more of that.
