I used to like the Cowboys during the Danny White era. I was like 10 or 11 and for some reason liked that team.
My team never made the playoffs and I wasn't yet a discerning sports fan.
For the first time in a long time, I'm gonna root for the Cowboys today.
I thought with that O line, their pick this year was all kinds of awesome. Seldom do you just know a pick is going to be huge in the NFL and that was one of those rare instances.
Today, I hope they lay a beating on the Packers that, to a man, they will take with them for the rest of their natural born lives.
Wasn't a rough day for me. I had a great time, and my Packers won.
But frankly, they all make too much money for me to care too much, so I'm not too wrapped up in it.
And horseshit. It wasn't Alex's fault they lost. Ben never scored an offensive TD, did he? Alex had two and he had the tie, except for a holding call on the play.
If the defense held on that last 3rd down play, it might've been a different story. A FG would've won it. And Alex is capable of winning drives.
Rod Marinelli coached the Bears defense in a big loss to the Packers in a final game of the regular season--a win would have gotten the Bears into the playoffs. On the final drive, the Packers had a 4th and 9 and Marinelli called an all out blitz...sending everyone. The Packers picked it up and the one guy with an open shot to Rodgers stumbled, Rodgers threw the ball 40 yards for a TD, the safety Chris Conte making the worst play of his career not picking his man up. Marinelli was roasted in the papers for that call but it was a gutsy call and a great call in that situation I thought. Bears defense wasn't that good and Rodgers was going to throw for a first down if they didn't blitz, in my opinion, but Lovie Smith was fired and Marinelli left with him, and that play had a lot to do with it.
Sure seems like that experience influenced Marinelli on those last two calls yesterday. He sent 3 people on both plays. 3 people. Against Rodgers.
If he had sent pressure on that 3rd down, that game goes into OT. But Rodgers had time to find someone to put them in FG range.
I was really bummed Marinelli didn't have enough guts to send pressure on that last play. I thought he probably wouldn't but so wanted him to have the balls to.
No matter what...if you give someone like Rodgers that much time on those two last plays, you are asking for trouble. It's that simple. Sending 3 pretty much guaranteed he was going to have time.
I get that it was a great throw and also a great catch but it was Marinelli's call that enabled both.

C'mon Hoople, don't tell me you're a Dallas fan. (Still in SG?)
My sweetie is recuperating from knee surgery and is laid up on the couch most the day, under a Dallas Cowboys blanket.
I printed up that pic at work and taped it to the wall so she can look at it all day. This Sunday should be fun at my house.

As long as your team has Rogers and Nelson there's always a chance but me thinks they are going down this time around.

I hope it's a good game. No Jordy could be an issue but there's other weapons waiting to shine.
I did buy her a Cowboys coat years ago she still wears. But watching Jerry Jones in agony is almost as much fun as watching Lou Saban in pain.
Enjoy folks.

Great game. Reminded me a bit of the National Championship game where both teams scored in the last bit of the game and it went back and forth.
Definitely on the edge of my seat. A lot of things went the Packers way today, which is what ya need to beat the Cowboys in Dallas.
Now time to root for my Utah boy Alex.

Alexis Smith sucks, always has always will. Though Whiners Fans would love to have her back.... lol
She never has won a big game. Check down artist/game manager who can't throw it more than 15 yds down field accurately
Neither have the Queefs....

Doesn't matter how good you are, there's always someone with a keyboard who thinks they're smarter.
And cute too, calling him a woman. Wanna do that to his face?
You honestly think a man that makes that much as an experienced NFL quarterback can't throw 45 feet away accurately?
You should've seen him with Urban Meyer at Utah. Much more open offense.
There's a guy on the net now blaming Andy Reid's clock management. How does the NFL not see these geniuses and not hire them?
I'm done with this stupidity.
