NASCAR changes

Believe it or not, we used to care about NASCAR on the zone. Just read they are splitting races into periods with 10 minute intermissions. Championship points for winners of each period. Point is to make the early part of the race more exciting. Ok. However, isn't the real trick of NASCAR the long haul win? Crazy. Anyway, I no longer follow the sport so don't care, but whatever relationship it once had to tradition is just shitcanned.
