Roy Halladay, 40, dies in plane crash in Gulf of Mexico
Roy Halladay, a two-time Cy Young Award-winning pitcher who retired from baseball nearly four years ago, has died in a plane crash in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Florida. He was 40 years old.

He was a great pitcher, and only 40 with his bank account likely stuffed enough for four lifetimes of good times.

Wow that sucks, but he loved
Wow that sucks, but he loved to fly & chose his fate, I respect that (the owners of the company that built his plane died in a plane crash flying the same model of plane). Too bad he didn't get a WS title w/the Phils (in both '10 & '11 they ran into the buzzsaw of teams that got hot in Sept & made the wild card the last day of the season - Giants in 10, St Louis in '11). One of the better recent memories I have with my Dad (before he became a Trump bot & Disowned me for being a State Employee Communist) was listening to that perfect game on an old am radio with him as I happened to be visiting him that day. My Dad was a huge baseball guy, almost made the majors, played for the Cincinnati organization.
