Clarence Thomas Most Despicable Supreme Court Judge ever.

The Roberts Court must be dismantled.

Scalia used to get the same treatment and refused to recuse himself in cases where there were clear conflicts.  Problem is there is no remedy for failing to recuse oneself when you are a SCOTUS justice.  It works solely on the honor system.

I see the article has nods to the Bohemia Club.  Wonder if Thomas parties with Bob and Mickey?

What and absolute piece of shit

Thomas gave a yacht worker a copy of his own memoir as a tip -- signed: "Thank you so much for all your hard work on our New Zealand adventure."

Money buys yachts. Influence buys favors.

> The Roberts Court must be dismantled.

"Dismantled" isn't the verb I had in mind. It's much too kind.

disbar him and jail his fat assed fascist wife.

Still too civilized for my tastes, Turtle. Their asses need a hero to get medieval on them. There's probably never been a better time for flaying to make a comeback.

Note that Crow donated $500k to the Tea Party group founded by Ginni, and Ginni took a $120k salary from the same org.  Pretty straightforward bribery.

Imagine the right-wing outcry if Kagan or Sotomayor were cruising around on a Soros mega-yacht!

^ right-wingers would howl at the moon for weeks if any "liberal judge" merely had their lunch tab picked up

They are already howling at the moon because the NYC judge contributed $15 to Biden's campaign.......

now just imagine how outrageous this would all be if uncle clarence's sugar daddy was also a nazi

https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/clarence-thomas-billionaire-buddy-va...

I wonder if Crow ever met Trump.

"Mr. Prezdint, get a load of my African-American over there."

> uncle clarence's sugar daddy

That's my nomination for band name of the century.

^^^^
Mike and Thumb you guys made my day with those comments.

>>>>>>I wonder if Crow ever met Trump.         "Mr. Prezdint, get a load of my African-American over there."

Trump:     No, "Jim", that's MY "African-American."

ginny: uh, ah

he's mine (ominous music)

Lol.

Because it's true.

And it continues.

Harlan Crow’s companies purchased a string of properties in Savannah, Georgia.  The people on the other side of the deal: Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and his relatives. Soon after the sale was completed, contractors began work on tens of thousands of dollars of improvements on the two-bedroom, one-bathroom home.

Crow still owns Thomas’ mother’s home, which the now-94-year-old continued to live in through at least 2020, according to public records and social media. Two neighbors told ProPublica she still lives there. Crow did not respond to questions about whether he has charged her rent.

The disclosure form Thomas filed for that year also had a space to report the identity of the buyer in any private transaction, such as a real estate deal. That space is blank.

https://www.propublica.org/article/clarence-thomas-harlan-crow-real-esta...

Rep Randy "Duke" Cunningham was sentenced to eight years in prison for a real estate deal very much like this one. We will see what happens to Thomas

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duke_Cunningham

Hmm, From the ProPublica link. This doesn't appear to put Thomas in legal jeopardy

>Ethics law experts said Crow’s intentions had no bearing on Thomas’ legal obligation to disclose the sale.

I read that as Crow saying he was going to make it a museum. It doesn't matter what Crow intended to do with the property Thomas still had to disclose the sale which he did not.

That said ethics for the Supreme Court seems to be mostly on the honor system so I don't know if he can be convicted, but one thing is for sure he fucked over all future Justices, because we are about to put in real rules because Republicans can't be trusted.

oh uncle tom thomas...

And in case you aren't keeping score at home.

Justice Gorsush sold his property to a law firm with business in front of the court and never disclosed the sale

Chief Justice Roberts wife has a nice job as head hunter for lawyers placing them at firms that have business in front of the court where she made $10 million dollars. There was a time in my life where I too was a head hunter placing lawyers at firms and I know for sure I would have lost every time going up against the wife of a fucking supreme court justice. Also my comp was not as good as hers for some reason.

Finally the Senate is proposing a law that the Supreme Court has to set up an ethics review run by the Supreme Court with rules made by the Supreme Court and report any violations that they investigate and the punishment they hand out all controlled by the Supreme Court. They invited Chief Justice Roberts to come in and talk about it, and he said -  yeah no we're good. Nothing to worry about here.

We (collectively) can't even seem to give these guys term limits and now all of a sudden someone is gonna pull off some kind of actual meaningful oversight instead?

not happening

Impropriety (or, the appearance of impropriety) is already the standard

Don't leave this tidbit out of the discussion:

"All 9 SCOTUS justices push back on oversight: 'Raises more questions,' senator says"

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/all-9-scotus-justices-push-back-...

...and this.

"Questions raised after 'serious omissions' discovered in Kavanaugh confirmation investigation"

This is all part of the GOP and the Christian nut jobs attempt to push minority rule to save liberals from our dope smoking self, screw 'em

See what happens when people don’t vote?

Seriously. 2016 is what fucked us.

No Trump in 2016, no Gorsuch or Kavanaugh or Barrett. Game is over now, at least for a decade or more.

Hillary Clinton won the popular vote in the 2016 presidential election by 2.86 million votes

i just couldn't vote for her, she's too off-putting

there's something i don't like about her

here we are

the writing was on the wall

One of the largest problems is the electoral college, as BSS alluded to. It is how the powers assure a favorable outcome. They have control nailed down and are not going to give it up.  Our gov't is corrupt beyond hope.   Only a revolution would hope to fix things, and they have us so divided, we can't agree as to what to do or how to do it.  They have done a superb job. And it is only gong to get worse.

^^This. I was just talking with a couple friends about the likely "beyond repair corruption" across our govt. Big Pharma knows who to grease, as ever.

"VA Marijuana Research Bill, Other Vets Measures 'May All Be Dead' After Failed Senate Vote, Chairman Says"

https://www.yahoo.com/news/va-marijuana-research-bill-other-163225194.html

Where the hell is Diane Feinstein anyway? Does she even know she still supposedly has a job? It is not sexist to push for her to resign if she can't make it to work over prolonged periods and is afraid to travel. Most of the rest of us would be pushed out the door or HR-strangled with diminished benefits and short or long term disability papers to sign. How many workplaces even have any 90-years olds on the payroll as age discrimination runs rampant but usually starts in earnest around age 50 these days.

The corruption just keeps flowing, and just look at the justification on this one.

Harlan Crow paid something on the order of $150,000 in private school tuition for Clarence Thomas's grand-nephew, who Thomas raised "like a son." Needless to say, none of this was reported.

The best explanation Crow could come up with was this: "Harlan Crow has long been passionate about the importance of quality education and giving back to those less fortunate, especially at-risk youth." I'm not sure how the son of a Supreme Court justice is "at risk," but whatever.

https://jabberwocking.com/yet-more-clarence-thomas-corruption-this-morning/

I'd say anyone who was raised by Clarence Thomas is at risk, by definition.

At the very least, you'd need to be worried about being accused of putting pubic hair on Clarence's Coke can.

And in todays news. Yes there is more news today of even more corruption but who really cares at this point. Why hasn't every Democratic Legislature not called for Thomas to resign. It doesn't matter that he won't do it. They all need to be calling for his resignation.

And that ring is also an antique.

What kinda RV costs a quarter mil?

Someone needs to blow that SOB and his wife to smithereens.

>>>Someone needs to blow that SOB and his wife to smithereens<<<

Ah, violence in the name of righteousness. Mark is on a Jihad.

..smithereens?

Maybe Mark needs a sarsaparilla.

Poor Clarence, having to slum around in a second hand RV. He doesn't realize he got shorted.

Newell Coach is a company situated close to here on the northern edge of a small town named Miami (Mi-am-uh, after the tribal name). The building is one story and you wouldn't look at it twice when passing by, except for what sits out in the lot area.  They are considered some of the world's finest RV's and they crank out  $1 to $ 2 mil RV's that sell the world over.

Maybe I should have said blown to kingdom come?

Jihad? I don't have the balls.

US Supreme Court's Thomas discloses flights by private jet

WASHINGTON, Aug 31 (Reuters) - U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas took private jet flights provided by billionaire Texas businessman Harlan Crow, according to a 2022 financial disclosure report made public on Thursday.

Thomas listed trips by private jet to Dallas, Texas for a conference and to a property in the Adirondacks in upstate New York. He has faced scrutiny after revelations that he had not disclosed luxury trips paid for by the wealthy benefactor.

The supreme fuck you you can't touch us court.

Paging gwtcsmc  (joe)

I actually know a deadhead who lives in Miami (OK) and cooks for that rv company. An old roommate from SF. Tall. Redhead (maybe gray now). Good guy.

You don't sound like MH, but perhaps you know him. We are everywhere.

Very cool, Alan!  I don't know an MH. or anyone at Newell, but I live about 25 minutes south of there and it's entirely possible we may have crossed paths in Miami.  I go there often.   If he still smokes, our ghost strain is at Fritz Firehouse. Maybe he's been there.  I do have to remind myself to keep my eyes on the road when i drive by Newell, those RV's are fascinating.  We are everywhere.

he was until the i love beer bitch came along

then again: heinous IS heinous

i am down for some righteous violence

Sounds Trumpian.

Pro Publica has now exposed that Thomas is in bed with the Kochs.

 >>>>>Thomas is in bed with the Kochs.

Isn't one of them dead?

That makes it even creepier.

It should come as no surprise that there's even more to despise.

This is probably what is going to happen in the Trump immunity case:

Best guess: Three, maybe four votes for absolute immunity. Three liberals reject Trump outright, possibly joined by Barrett. Roberts, maybe with Barrett, writes majority rejecting absolute immunity, but creating other forms of immunity, sends case back down. Trial delayed indefinitely.

https://bsky.app/profile/radleybalko.bsky.social/post/3kqxrl5e7jk2c

Sleepy should've added justices to the bench while he had the chance, but he was busy sleeping.

He'll get immunity for official acts (as he should), then the case will get sent back down to the lower court to figure out what all was an official act and which acts weren't.

the outcome of which will no doubt be appealed again.

rinse, repeat.

Sure except for that pesky detail of needing 60 Senate votes, but yeah it's all Joes fault.

Yeah, fuck it. Why even try, right?

Which is all secondary to the fact that he said he'd never consider it anyways.
