Great old TV spot featuring great Philzoner

Forums:

I ran into the big lug doogels and his lovely wife at D&C in San Francisco last month and had a great visit.

That reminded me of his awesome appearance in a 2008 Giants commercial. I just stumbled upon it and thought I'd share it.

It's a funny commercial, although I'm not sure the glorification of violence would fit into today's climate.

The ironic thing about the casting is Doogs is one of the sweetest, kindest human beings you'll ever meet.

Met Doogs a couple of times back in those Halcyon days, he was in that DNB/NRPS cover band, right? Ended up at a Shoreline show next to him, he's a nice and good dude. Shame he didnt' make the migration over to here (at least I don't think so).

Never saw that ad. Very funny!

Doogs is one of my all time faves.  Hopefully will see him in the fall.

Thanks for posting

For you Bay Area Zoners, I saw this Doogs FB post this am:
"I am excited to be returning to the stage! Tomorrow (Aug 19), I will play bass for a Country outfit called Buffalo Dog. We'll be at the American Legion Coastside Post 747 in Princeton (Half Moon Bay). We play from 2 to 5. Everyone (family and dog-friendly) is invited, and I hope to see you there!"
470 Capistrano Rd, Half Moon Bay, CA 94019

Mylar I saw that sweet news, and I also ran into him in the shakedown building at Oracle

Doogles ROCKS!

"he was in that DNB/NRPS cover band, right?"

The Dedicated Maniacs. Miss those guys.

The commercial is funny.

(((( Doogles ))))

Always loved that band and it's members. Saw them many times. Isn't that the Zoner Jam that Louie Lardo showed up for?  Miss those days a bit.

I saw Doogles and wifey a few weeks ago. Great to see him!

>>>my heart was hoping for LFL tho<<<

Sorry, no video of Louie, but I do have this great photo taken outside the Throckmorton Theatre in Mill Valley CA, from a newspaper article about the Furthur rehearsal shows in 2010...

That's a photo of a happy man, and of course with our own lovely Roshambo as well.

(There was some video footage of Louie being interviewed that day, but it's nowhere to be found)

Boy, those sure were some good times and great memories from those shows in that awesome little theatre.

LFL was the best!

We had a blast!!

Miss you- And remember how much you appreciated that Dew, buddy!

I don't know how to post pictures on here anymore- but I have some good ones-

Viva!!!
