Little Feat kicked ass

Forums:

I was pleasantly surprised by how tight this latest version of Little Feat is. I've been disappointed in the past.

Maybe 2 or 3 original guys left, but the young blood really kicked ass. Sure it was mostly all greatest hits, but it was all done well and included some exceptional jamming, too.

They have close historic ties to the Balto /  DC area and maybe that was the reason.

Oteil and Friends played before them and never achieved the same liftoff as Feat. But they were good -- Oteil, Steve Kimock, Jason Crosby, Duane Betts, John Kimock, and some other dude.

There is nothing like hearing Kimock do a DarkStar at the little local county park you take old man walks at. That was a hoot.

Yea this version of Little Feat is great. Their new drummer Tony Leone is fantastic

Yeah.  Saw the new line up last month and it was one one of the better Little Feat shows I have seen.  The two new guys really add some energy and of course Bill Payne is still one of the best piano players in rock, Fred can shred, and Kenny is a solid bass player.

Saw then earlier in August and it was fantastic. Last time I saw Little Feat was years ago and they played 2/3 post Lowell stuff. This show had Easy to Slip, THE FAN, Two Trains, Red Streamliner, plus the regulars.... The new singer is great.

I think I'm seeing them 10/7.  One of those "save the date" things. Same for Tuna 9/23.  Birthday "surprises".  Might still be.  I could find myself at Oteil & Friends 9/23.  Cool either way.
