Free for subscribers...

thanks for the heads up.  will likely catch them all.

It's not free if you have to subscribe.

agree

A lot of live video streams on nugs.net aren't free even if you are a subscriber, so in that sense these shows are different and "free for subscribers". I've been really happy with these free video live streams but Free, as in Free for all mixlr streams would make me happier.

Love the new stage look

Nice fishcane using abbreviations and stylin the BttF shades! You're all set, goaty!

Tommy, I barely used nugs the first year I subscribed, but now I use it all the time. The playlists are a game changer! Seek out the "All Strings - Lost And Rarely Played" playlist (audio) it's 15 hours of deep track covers, mostly bluegrass covers. Good stuff!

thanks fer the heads up on that dise, I'll download that for my flight over the pond to see Phil's Birthday ...

Watched last night's show.  Incredible playing as usual.

And the new lights/visuals were great.   He really dialed back the lights/visuals last year, but the new rig is the best yet.   Tasteful and trippy, but not over the top, seizure inducing.  Hope he brings it down for St. Augustine.

Roger Gant does the lighting design for Billy Strings and changes things up every tour. I sometimes miss the wild trippy lights, but I get they're not for everyone, especially those older people who have seizure risks.

Nashville this weekend.

Just stupendous tonight!

Never heard of Brian Sutton before, but that guy can play guitar.  Almost as good as Billy himself.  Can see why he is one of the most in demand players in Nashville.

Damn, Billy brought out the big guns for this run! Bela Fleck, Sam Bush, Brian Sutton sit ins and more local musicians including 8 y/o Miles Gee!

I first recall seeing Brian Sutton in the latter 90s at the Van Duzer Theater at the then Humboldt State University when he was playing in Ricky Skaggs' band.  It was fun then to see another flatpicking guitarist emerging who was on the level of Tony Rice, Norman Blake, Doc Watson, and Dan Crary, as it is now to see Billy picking up the torch.  Rice, Sutton, and Billy all share the ability to play really fast while remaining fluid.  Hope Billy's playing and success inspires a whole new generation of pickers.

Ken, you have good taste. Bryan Sutton plays with Hot Rize. After Charles Sawtelle passed away Bryan came into the band. I think he also has played with the Telluride All Stars with Sam and Jerry et al.

Often at the festivals playing with the big boys. Helluva picker. https://www.bryansutton.com/

Just found this on Hot Rize's site after decidein got look around.

Always wanting to stay close to his bluegrass roots, in 2002 he accepted the invitation of the legendary Hot Rize band to fill its first vacancy since 1978, following the death of guitarist Charles Sawtelle. In Hot Rize, his playing and singing are spotlighted as never before, and it’s also rumored he has something to do with Swayde, the “mystery member” of Hot Rize’s alter-ego country-cutup band Red Knuckles & the Trailblazers.

Sutton has been voted six times IBMA’s Guitarist of the Year, and a duet with his guitar hero Doc Watson received a Grammy in 2007 for “Best Country Instrumental Performance”. In 2005, 2010, and 2014, The Academy of Country Music named him Instrumentalist of the Year.

Sutton and Strings going at it last night was something to behold.

Billy with a drummer doing Nirvana and Pearl Jam covers.  Pretty cool stuff.

really looking forward to the St. Augustine shows!!!

The novelty shows are fun but I thought the Bridgestone shows were better

correction slick

bryan sutton is not a six time IMBA player of the year

bryan sutton is actually a ten time IMBA player of the year

he's quite a force

i saw sutton w/ bela and my bluegrass heart and was spectacular.

just Grabbed The Zman's recording from the 25th Wholey mother fuckn chit! Its' real Good, Was wonderin where that awesome taper and used to be streamer's been.. Nashville, I do believe

Pulled it off the Hot Rize website, BSS. https://www.hotrize.com/band-members/bryan-sutton  But thanks for correcting that. The man deserves the honors. And Hot Rize needs a web person!

And does anyone know how foxy that guy's wife is? Asking for a friend.

I really enjoyed My Bluegrass Heart, Bryan Sutton and everyone else were amazing. I wish I had the time for nugs to see Billy, too bad work takes up so much time, looking forward to catching Billy this summer, hopefully with some Bela or other Hearts.
