Most Hated Bands of the past 30 years

Forums:

The first list below is from Salon - actually from a while ago but perusing many lists this seemed to still be relevant.  The second from another website Audacity.   U2 and Phish were typically in the top ten in the many lists I searched.  Surprise the Spin Doctors even made the list considering they were a flash in the pan.    I did not see the grateful dead on a list which surprised me.

It's all opinions....but amusing just the same.   Who is your top 5?

Nickelback is #1?

No way

They're far worse than that.

1994 was 30 yrs ago, fyi...

30 years  40 years 50 years

#1 is always the Eagles

¡ Primus Sucks !

Hate? That's way too much passion for bands I never think about.

I do have an active disliking for John Mayer though, but that's just due to his mug popping up on my screen periodically because of his thing with D$C.

"dislike" would have been a better word choice!

Not a hater, but Dylan's the only one on either of those lists that I would ever listen to.

Well, maybe Lana Del Rey and the Doors if they come up on the radio.

blink 182 might deserve their place here, idk, but in general, im really surprised at how many grown adults still listen to that type of 90s-00s pop punk -  blink 182, green day, sum 41, etc etc. i listened to some of that stuff when i was 11 or 12, and knew lots of folks who listened to that kinda stuff all thru high school, but looking back on it now, it seems so obviously contrived to appeal to preteens and make money off them, its hard for me to imagine listening to that music or relating to it as an adult, but there really are a lot of people who just never stopped listening to that. i figured it would fade out alongside stuff like all the old hannah montana music, and other acts aimed at a specific generation of children.

Phil's Chair is getting disparaged on Ratdog board so I've heard

crazy that there are people who like ratdog enough to post on a ratdog message board over 10 years after their last real tours. although i guess i shouldnt talk, ashes and glass houses > throwing stones, ya know.

"Hating" a band/performer is pretty ridiculous, but then the insatiable, desperate love we humans have for hate is endless (as is our love of lists) so this fits right in.

Other than the Doors, I've seen every performer on both of those lists multiple times, and while with a few exceptions I'm no fan of any of them, I can't say I hated a single one.

Now, whoever conceived & performed that damned Kars4Kids jingle.......

THEM I hate!!!

Is this bands or individual artists? There are both on both lists. For solo artists I nominate:

KID ROCK

...and Ted Nugent.

Rusted Root is the worst band of all time. Hands down.

I first saw them after some '93 MSG dead shows at the wetlands.  In fact that was my first wetlands show.  I bet they made good money off that one song that's been in movies and commercials.

There is lots of music I find tedious and insufferable, but yes, hate is too strong a word.''

Overproduced schmaltz-pop like N'Sync, Backstreet Boys, Menudo, and Los Del Rio (the Macarena band).

Poser Metal bands like Korn,

Mall Punk Hot Topic bands like Good Charlotte.

Trap Hip Hop like Travis Scott.

Vapid pop singers like Halsey.

As far as individuals, Ted Nugent might be a douchenozzle, but he does have some good songs.  Kid Rock, not so much.  As much as they suck as people, they're not as bad as Gary Glitter (convicted pedophile), Charles Manson (serial killer), R. Kelly (pedophile/sex trafficker), or apparently Sean P. Diddy Combs.

Rat Dog board was cool back in the day- I needed to jump over there once in a while to escape the PZ hi-jinx.
