Hi Jeff! *waiving*

Molo is such a beast and I love Karl.

hey Merri, hope you are having fun

I'm at home in NC right now but am heading up there Friday morning. Listening to the freebie stream since I'm spending waaaay to much money chasing the music. My secret addiction...Phil

I'm with ya then for tonight anyways, wish I was gonna be there, just not in the cards

It wasn't in the cards for me either but I had to make it work.

Remember while you all are having fun during the summer I'm chained to the desk 24/7 from May to October. sad

Save that Cumby fer friday.

I was a little worried there that Phil wouldn't make it thru that Terrapin. He sounded like a winded 90 year old! He bounced back.

Wholey goose bumps right there..

Caught a few clips and vids from my Philly fam groovin ( Tony Terrapin)....
Luv Amy Helm and the rest of band, home doing my PT and OT on shoulder and off to Rothman tomorrow for diag .  Still beaming from last week it truly was a blessing to "be" there and hug everyone. We have a lot of local Philly goin on this weekend ( Red Meat Conspiracy, Jonathan Coleman and a few others)...celebrating my musician friends in their studio....I am truly blessed to have landed here <3

Sending luv and healing to those that need it ~

Thanks for streams n vids

Great show! Ouch! The house got dramatically quiet.

Thanks for the laughs and see you on Friday Tom

Huge hugs to you Lynn! Wish it could have been in 3D

How did I miss Alan? Wine, weed and Phil of course

*waiving*

One day Merri, so happy to see you here and having phun <3

Hugs and kisses....enjoy the ride !

I only watched the second set. I liked it because there weren't too many guitars in the mix and it was upbeat. A nice mix of seasoned players. Dance concert Phil. Fun.

Amy Helm is always a good addition!

I think she was in one of the 2015 or 2016 CAP lineups...

Note: Phil Lesh & Friends ft: Eric Krasno, Jason Crosby, Grahame Lesh, Karl Denson, Amy Helm & John Molo

Now that's what I love about Phil and Friends Molo, Karl and Grahame were on point. The whole thing had me grinning all night. I do love some Q but Phil seemed so much more comfortable with Grahame in the band. 2 more to go, this could very well be the last time, enjoy.

Really cool to see the Attics, Phil without the bass just giving us his best...long live the Lesh family and their vision of our music..

There weren't too many guitars in the mix and it was upbeat>>> Karl Denson vs Stu Allen or Stanley Jordan...no contest & upbeat as heck on Ripple, finally saw live again, 1st time since Other Ones summer '98.  2nd time @ The Cap (B-Day run in '22), did the balcony this time.  This line up was a clear  upgrade, as was the sound upstairs  wink   laugh

Excellent chance this is the last time.  Saw Phil onstage 1st time a week after I turned 18 in April '77.

Found out just before showtime I lost a friend of 40 years, we lost touch 20 years back, but did Fall '85  Miami>>Richmond.  On it goes..

Went to the show with no expectations and no ticket.  I walked around for 30 minutes but had no luck scoring. At 7:40 went to box office and picked up a GA for 119 bux with tax came out to 125 bux.  I  scooted in and buzzed around the venue.  Lights went down and walked to my "go to" spot in front of soundboard. Lots of room and we had a great cool breeze as the doors were open.  30 seconds later band came out.  Great timing and we were off to the races. Crowd was energized. Band seemed to be pretty tight and sound was excellent.  I did however feel the band was rushing through the music and unlike Jimmy Herring leads Krasnos were short and non exploratory.  I was kind of underwhelmed.  The new arrangement of Ripple closer reminded me of the dead in the 80's closing with a 3 minute Day Job or Don't ease as Jerry was hard pressed to take a dump.  Set 2, although  hotter, was still lacking improvisational lead guitar. Quite average. stuff. Hats off to Denison who complimented every song.  Molo is an animal.  Glad to see Phil looking better tonight.

Rumor has it a special guest or two may be in the cards for Birthday gig which this line up desperately  needs. (Hope its not Stanley Jordan or Scofield.) I had been looking forward to going to the Birthday show but being a high priced ticket, featuring  a family band, not so sure any more. A 20 dollar stream with a good stereo and a 75 inch monitor may be more appropriate.

Seemed like a good show. As often happens with a new incarnation... nobody wants to take control and everyone is "too kind" and doesn't want to step out front and insteaad let others do it, but nobody does it. Kras can certainly bring it, but doesn't always do so. Phil is THE GODDAM MAN!!  Fast Ripple has been around for a while. I like it cuz it's basically impossible to bring the importance and profoundness of that song without Jerry singing it, but it's sucha great song that needs to be played and sung! Rumor on the backstreet is Bobby may show up tomorrow. I'm thinking if Shappy was ever gonna bring together a myriad of, or even just some special people for Phil's birthday.... this is the time to do it!!  We shall see but I'm feeling like the time is now.....!!

Had a good feeling going into the show with this lineup and it being a weeknight, but wow did they exceed expectations. Every song had a different edge and vibe to it with this arrangement.

So many highlights but one of the many peaks was the transition after China Cat. Felt like time stood still as each band member stayed in the present moment what seemed like an eternity. Don’t know if there was some sort of bet made before the show about who would give away Ripple first (like the joke Karl said about who’s going to take their coat off first tonight, him or Kras . . . answer was neither), but no one was giving away any licks or notes of what song was going to come out of China Cat. Then Phil just made a little head nod after the long jam . . . and complete magic happened as they rolled downstream right into a rocking Ripple to end the set. Will have goosebumps for a long long time.

Band stayed just as tight the 2nd set. And from where I was on the floor, clearly saw Graham call an audible when he walked over to Kras and yelled I Know You Rider. What a read that was.

Could hear a plastic solo cup drop during the Attics, as the crowd was one with the band, which was a perfect ending for this special evening.

Bobby would make this a huge event.  JK would be a marvelous addition. Herring and Warren would make it magnificent.

Maybe I need to go now.

If you go, don't go for the names; go for the music in the moment, go for the show.

Go for Phil.

Just go for a good time, go for yourself.

I'm betting that if you do that, you'll have a real good time.

Does it always have to be 12/29/77????

Because it isn't gonna' be.

But it will still likely be good.

Go see & hear Phil Lesh play the bass on his 84th birthday, go hear some Grateful Dead music played well in a very cool room.

Just go to the show.

Or not. But in ten years, will you remember what you did on March 15th 2024?
