Never participated in a pre-sale for tix and wonder if it's typically a custie thing in which the early buyers get ripped off in a tiering scheme or is it all legit and transparent? Do potentially buyers have any choice of tix or is one's credit card just hit with whatever is "available"?

Pre-sale allows promoters to release a small amount of tix while testing market response. Then they can decide how many tix to push to the secondary market.
Or maybe I'm a skeptic.
