I agree that Obama's Syrian policy was a failure. I just don't know what else he should've done.
Since we can look back with 20-20 vision, can you propose a successful plan that Obama should've carried out to prevent this calamity?
This is an earnest request for a conversation.
I'm wondering what would happen if the US aggressively got rid of the Assad regime directly. Or even if US enforced a no fly zone by shooting down Syrian aircraft. Would this have started a war with Russia? I honestly don't know.
The Assad/Russia alliance seems to be killing thousands and thousands of civilians. Should the US add to that?
Do we really believe that Russia and USA can work together to specifically defeat ISIS? Should we trade the Ukraine for Syria? <OK that idea came from left field.

Assad was not going anywhere. The US was foolish for insisting on his removal. Russia would not have risked loading their naval base, therefore they would have come to Assad's defense,

Obama's coziness with Iran and his insistence to create the screwed up nuke deal was part of obama's reluctance to to anything in Syria.
