Joe has a good point about 85, 11/1/85 was a great show although we all thought the night before was just as good or better. Joe is also correct that its lame to say 'not even' if you don't have a better example to share.
It's reasonable (in my mind) that you think an 85 version of Comes was the best ever. The maturity Garcia had by that time, despite his horrendous health. Those are some special versions (again..in my mind).
The 'hands down' part is where I thought the stupid came in.
I have to go with the Richmond 85 Comes A Time. Tune was a melt down that night sung and played with emotion and passion.
I was about 15 feet away from Garcia so that helped with the whole process of melting. I always wanted to play Comes A Time into Comes A Time live....I love both songs!
Buffalo 77 is the most technically crisp -- the band at the peak of their virtuosity, for the post-hiatus era at least. The 85 versions have more grit and soul, though.
the 7-17-76 one has always been my favorite. 5-12-77 is a nice one too. The Neil Young Comes a Time album is in my top 3 Neil albums...Goin Back, 4 Strong Winds, Human Highway..etc. excellent songs. For Neil fans. 1972 Journey Through the Past film has some pretty cool footage. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xglVMxLUrJ0&t=2878s
>>>Also lame (maybe stupid is a more appropriate word) to say that unless you've heard all of them.
No, lame and stupid would be trashing opinions and not giving a better example, typical weak material.
Not a bad one in the bunch can attach to a bunch of great songs that people love to hear. Meaning regardless of a mistake here and there in certain versions the overall body of the song is still good, as in all of them were good imo. Do you know what imo even means?

5/9/77 and 7/17/76 are nice versions but IMO those 85 versions Jerry sang it with more authority and like a wise old man. Very soulful.
