When I first got this CD I loved the instruments but wasn't sure I wanted to listen to singing on top of how they were playing. I put it on repeat for a few days and fell in total love. So it's really especially nice to hear them live.
that 1927 Hawaiian Martin guitar was unearthed in Baltimore basement and made it's way to a mutual friend ('nother Alan)--- and Jorma's bagels came from up the street.
(I am sworn to secrecy about whether Jorma had cream cheese.)
I received this link to Rising Appalachia & Ramy Essam - This Land Is Your Land (Live on eTown), beautiful and soulful rendition from an old Zoner today. It was a nice thing to hear with the memory of Jorma and John Hurlbut's version still fresh.
