Kansas violinist Robbie Steinhart dead

Forums:

softballs are sitting there waiting....

All we are is dust in the wind.....

This foolish game, oh it's still the same
The notes go dancin' off in the air
And don't you believe it's true, the music is all for you
It's really all we've got to share
'Cause rockin' and rollin', it's only howlin' at the moon
It's only howlin' at the moon

RIP

Love the VH1 story on Kansas where they tell how that prick Steven Tyler turned down their sound when they got a better response then them.

Miracles out of Nowhere = Great Documentary

i was thinking point of no return...

I was never a fan, they were a little too slick for me, but they were a great band that created a sound all their own.

On it goes.

Funny Doolittle!!!!

My first concert was Aerosmith with Styx opening and it was the Grand Illusion tour I believe. Need to watch the doc.

ooopppss-disregard.

Carry on my wayward son,

There'll be peace when you are gone,

Lay your weary head to rest,

Don't you cry no more.

As a kid growing up, I mainly knew them from the big radio friendly hits.  In the last couple of years, I started to give their deep cuts and lesser known records a more thorough listen, and was pretty impressed that such a talented Prog-Rock band emerged from the Midwest.  Check out their Monolith record if you never heard it.  Light years more talented and way less cheesy than, say, Styx.  They have a lot of subtle Christian imagery and themes in their music, but aren't real preachy or pushy about it.  Reminds me of when Jesus Freaks were cool.

R.I.P.

Song for America was there 2nd album and highly recommended if your looking for deep tracks.

Yeah, that's the one with the dark blue cover:  That record is great.

Left Overture and Point of Know Return got a fair amount of play during my High School years.....

RIP ,, you will be missed.

Very nice, Herbal Dave.

Love me some Magnum Opus

RIP Robbie
