Here's the audio for Nirvana's last show in the US. The Butthole Surfers opened and Bobcat Goldthwait was the MC. Great show but a little sad in retrospect.
The thread opens up a space for the celebration and adulation that's deserved. Build on it. When you say, "I'm not sure I'm comfortable with you starting this Kurt Cobain thread, McDoobs.", you're talking about McDoobie. Give Cobain what he deserves, it's not about McDoobie.
Were you one of the last people to see Kurt Cobain in rehab?
Yes I was. Yeah, it was not exactly cool, but rehab is like an extended party. It was the like the morning after the big long party and everyone there was cool and everything, hot chicks and stuff, and the first couple of days you get given a lot of valium and stuff, benzos and shit, so you are all mellow and everything is groovy. I I had a girlfriend who would drop by and give me blow jobs and stuff and I would tell everyone in the group and they be all pissed off at me!
But Kurt came into that place after I had been there for about a week and I remember he was in detox and came out of his room for the first time and came down to the outdoor area and sat down at the table we were sitting at.
We were talking, and it was a Saturday and everybody except for him and another couple of people were gonna go to an outside AA type meeting so we would get into these little vans and get transported there.
He didn’t want to go to this meeting as he was all blurred up and I was talking to him about a friend of mine who was in the same position we both were who had climbed over the wall. I went off to this AA meeting and when we came back he had decided to leave rehab and climbed over the wall and broke out! You know, he didn’t have to break out; he could have just walked down the hallway and walked out the doors! We were laughing!
A very old friend of mine was the general manager of Sub Pop records in the 1990's. We were talking a couple of months ago and he described the shift in his economics for the better by saying, "Grunge happened". He was able to buy a house, and then went on to lose a lot of money by trusting the wrong people. Not an unusual story, but it's his.
gibby haynes was ^^ then duff mackagen on a flight to washington state, they sat across from eachother as it goes had a super positive convo and saw eachother at baggage claim wished eachother the best, so it goes.....
I think the MTV acoustic Nirvana set was what really opened my eyes to their talent. Still love to listen to that stuff every now and again.
My best friend Tom Abrruzzese's (RIP brother) cousin played drums for Pearl Jam- Dave Abbruzzese. I think he got screwed out of being inducted with the band into the RRHOF!
Yeah, not really. A bunch of Mormon kids. This photo was taken about a month before I left the church over a disagreement about marijuana, and an incident at a church dance we played. Total rebels.
>>>Saying Mark was sounding like JR is a double-down bitch-slap to both Mark and JR. Behave, kids
Judit came in here swinging last night. First she lays the pimp hand on me & JR, then she drops the I know the GM over at Sub Pop in the 90's uber-innie cred.
What else can be said? I won't be wearing flannel this week, that's for sure.
I think he was running out of gas creatively and he knew it.
If he had cleaned up physically & mentally and carried on would he have continued to write interesting music, or would he have faded quickly like every other group from his short era except Pearl Jam, who were a much better live band than Nirvana and continue to ride that side of their career?
I was never a fan but I've appreciated his talent, it's just always been hard for me to see how he would have maintained his "voice" over time. I never saw him live so maybe he was a more compelling performer than he comes across on video and recordings, but IMO he would have had to continue to write top quality songs to stay on top, and maybe he would have or maybe not, but it's my dim recollection that he voiced concern over that issue himself.
I wasn't so much a fan of Nirvana during their time.
I think that was more of a Blues music period for me, with a little spattering of Beck, Cracker, Robyn Hitchcock, Cake, and other popish music that would be on the radio station WXRT in Chicago.
>>>>>Could be, but Hendrix was still a player while Cobain was a songwriter.
Meh, Cobain has a pretty unique guitar voice. Not taking away from Hendrix at all. I think left handed guitar players brains are wired different when singing and playing come together. Some of that Cobain stuff is kind of weird, as is some Hendrix stuff.
Once again, you have inspired me to pull out an old CD for the ride home: Nirvana - Nevermind (1991). <I think that's the only Nirvana recording that I have in the office.
I realize that Mark. My point was that Kurt was able to write more complicated songs because he knew Pat would be able to help them be played live.
Watch "The Beatles: Eight Days a Week" if you haven't. They couldn't reproduce their recordings live and it changed the band. I think Pat Smear delayed that process for Nirvana because they could play the songs on that last album live. It would have been interesting to see if he would have joined the band full time and/or record with them.
It took me a bit to warm up to Nirvana. Once I did, I appreciated Cobain's unique ability to put a rough edge on a beautiful melody. And his voice grew on me. He wasn't a flannel-wearing poser thats for sure. He was genuine and it showed. I suspect he was a sickly, gentle soul suffering in a cruel universe. H and music were his only escape. Then the music left him. Its like that yo. Like so many other artists he didnt get enough time to see the power of his own music to rebound and heal himself. He seemed to struggle with popularity as well.
I like the way he wore baggy, loose-fitting clothing. And the converse one-stars were pimpin. I cant say voice of a generation tag is appropriate but I'd definitely put him in the extremely influential one-of-a-kind category. The truly artistic are often plagued by heady demons. It was a sad thing to see him go like that. Celebrate his music!
This is the part where I could post a story that would probably blow your mind Mark. But as I said earlier: I'm done with your snarky bullshit. If/when you want to engage in a chill way I'm down, but I really have zero patience for you being such a nasty little prick to me. Chill out or fuck off.
>>>>That's interesting. I really don't feel like we're the ones keeping them away.
Clueless
Growing up skating in the PNW, Bleach was already on my radar, but it was very underground. It didn't rate higher to me than any of the other bands I was lucky enough to see at all ages shows around OR. (Mud Honey, Sonic Youth...) But when I heard Smells Like Teen Spirit on the radio, man that hit me. It was the perfect anthem for a NW high school freshman. I know what it's like to be different in a small rainy NW logging town. I love that flannel became hip. That made my dad the coolest mother fucker for awhile.... Ha Ha
I was lucky to see Nirvana at the Salem Armory on the In Utero tour. The show was more polished than I expected, but still awesome. It was only a few months later I saw the Dead for the first time and my musical direction would take an interesting twist....
Who knows what could have been. I wish Kurt had grabbed his daughter and disappeared.....
Ro, you're awesome and I hope to run in to you again soon
If you guys will post about the topic (Kurt Cobain, music, in this case) and not about each other, it'd be an interesting thread and fun. There's no competition, no one here is better than anybody else. If you love Cobain, show it, as McDoobie attempted. I'd like to learn, listen to new things, hear stories. This shit is just shit. From the second post on... I agree with Ro, and with AK Dread, clueless.
I have tried listening to Nirvana many times, and don't get the pleasure many of you do. I remember some MTV acoustic years ago that might have been good for me, but other than that I don't get it. I think I'm looking for a melody or something. If you can post a link to something I might like, I'd appreciate it.
St. Mark, you say at 9:21 "We all open ourselves to criticism when we start a thread." If you have a different opinion about something, talk about the opinion, not the other person. That is one of the ways a new person is not made to feel welcome. Why would a new person risk being treated this way? There's a lack of respect in the way it was done in this thread. JR, you, too.
The only people who get off in a circle jerk are the people participating. Go somewhere else for that, please.

Fair enough, Judit. I'll definitely focus on sharing my opinion of the thread topic. If somebody disagrees with me, or questions the quality of my posts, I'll just tell 'em to fuck off. And if that somebody doesn't fuck off, imma send you an email, so you can tell 'em to fuck off too. Cool?
I didn't tell you to fuck off because you disagreed with me Mark: it was the due to the general snarky tone of your bullshit. I'm done with it, and frankly it's been a long time coming. As for emailing Judit: Zoner please. Like I need help telling you to go fuck yourself. Moving forward address me with respect and I'll do the same. Otherwise spar with folks who are interested. I'm not.
Would you be willing to post the totally mind blowing story you suggested you were considering sharing yesterday? I know I speak for many when I say it would be a fantastic contribution to this thread. Thanks!
Fuck (off), Mark. How many times do you have to be admonished before you act like an adult, admit you're wrong and apologize?
Your act is played out and tired. Maybe find another hobby or website? You're always claiming to be the best at the internet--can you troll some other message board? Phantasy Tour might work for you.
>>>>>>Yes, but it's also about sharing your opinion without ad hominem attacks on other posters.
I agree. McDoobs shouldn't have attacked Marks character.
In their Pat Smear convo I think McDoobs may have been holding on to some anger from Marks first post in this thread.
McDoobs would be right if he had said the addition of Smear may have enabled Kurt to write more complicated songs after In Utero, but he was incorrect in saying those songs on In Utero were written with Smear in mind.
It's pretty stupid that something they both seem to enjoy turned into petty bickering but I don't read this as just a problem on St Marks end.
I didn't excuse Marks behavior. It was petty bickering on both sides.
I'm not surprised some people want it to all be blamed on Mark though. He's helped a few of you make yourself seem fairly foolish over the years. Seems to be plenty of grudges held.
>>incorrect in saying those songs on In Utero were written with Smear in mind.
Since you are being civil I'll respond to that. I agree: the songs on In Utero weren't written with Pat Smear specifically in mind. (He wasn't even the first guitarist they played with live.) But I do think Kurt knew the In Utero material would need another player to do it justice. I know the story about the phone call and Pat thinking it was a prank: maybe that was a last minute decision, or maybe it Kurt had wanted to work with him for a while. I don't claim to know either way. But in the full on conjecture department: if Kurt had lived I think Pat would have joined the band, it wasn't a Billy Preston situation.
>>>>>I do think Kurt knew the In Utero material would need another player to do it justice.
I agree. It's totally all speculation. I bet he didn't even think about performing them live when they were written. He probably did during the recording process though.
An argument could be made for the material on Nevermind needing a second guitarist as well; but they did well with those songs live as a trio.
I think adding Smear was more about the fact that they were firmly locked into 20k+ venues at that stage in their touring career. Adding another guitarist was sort of the obvious move. Green Day actually did the same thing when they got to that level. So did the Black Keys. They actually added a couple of musicians, I think.
But seriously: there's no feud. Mark dishes that shit out to a lot of folks here who enjoy playing along. Admittedly at one time I was one of them. But Gravy's correct: it's played out and I'm over it. Mark can troll someone else. IMO there's no reason we can't address each other with respect, I hope he eventually decides to give it a try.
I don't think he was trolling you. That word trolling gets thrown around too much.
I think he was busting your balls (I could be wrong about his intentions though). It's obviously a subject that you had more to say about than SSIA. You got hostile right from the get go though, and I don't think I'm misreading that.
Either way I wish you, Mark, and I were listening to Nirvana, and pulling tubes together right now.
>>Was anyone as unimpressed with Nirvana as with Green Day when they blew up?
I saw Green Day before that first album came out and I thought it was obvious they were going to break. The Nirvana thing was a complete shock to folks who had been into them before Bleach. It just didn't seem possible.
Guilty as charged. I used to roll with it, now it just pissed me off immediately. I'd prefer to skip the "busting balls" trip with him: he's got plenty of playmates who will accommodate that.
The signed with Geffen because they wanted to make more money. The promotion of Nevermind was a very calculated attempt to get them as famous as possible. And if you knew those guys, the fact that it worked was a shock. Honestly: it was really, really weird. There were several bands at the time we all thought would make it, Nirvana not so much.
>>McDoobs, do you think it was Nirvana because they were the easiest band for Geffen to take advantage of?
That and they sort of had their shit togther until Kurt got into heroin. Mark's right about the Pixies: they were way too fucked up to go to the next level.
I was playing drums in a punk band at the time, mostly covers of 80's gems. At gigs the guitar player would throw in a riff from Nevermind or Teen Spirit, just to get the crowd's attention. Then we'd fall back into Fear, Black Flag, or the Circle Jerks. Most gigs ended when fights broke out in the mosh pit and spilled into our equipment. Needless to say, that was a different vibe than Timmy's alt-Mormon band from the same era. Sorry, no pics.

Careful not to let floor seating troll the fuck outta the numbers.
The Pixies have always been the obvious "coulda" band from that era. Sonic Youth was too weird. Pavement was too obnoxious. Fugazi obviously wasn't going to let it happen.
Hoover posted a useful link above Mark. Do a little research and post a couple Nirvana dates where they played to 20K (or more) people. Maybe include a couple non-festival dates that happened in the US. I think it would be helpful to have some specifics.
I'm still bummed Texas Zoner Jam never happened. Furious E and I were working on putting together a project called Heart Shaped Box Of Rain that would mesh songs and styles of GD and Nirvana.
Kurt would have gotten a chuckle out of Nirvana having become Dad-Rock.
Too bad he didn't just jump off the star-cycle and quit the music industry all together if he felt his muse was dried up. Say, like John Lennon did for a few years to get his head straight.
Lately, I've been getting into Kendra Smith, who was the bassist/vocalist for The Dream Syndicate, then Opal, the band that became Mazzy Star after she left and they brought in Hope Sandoval. Kendra put out her last solo album in 1995, "Five Ways Of Disappearing" an excellent album many rate above the work of the beloved Mazzy Star. She then, literally disappeared.
From Wikipedia:
>>>>
Not much is known about her after the solo album came out except according to 4AD she had moved to the woods of Northern California in the early 1990s, living in a small cabin with no electricity, and returned there after making two appearances to promote the album.

>>>>See, there it is. Drop that "busting balls" crap and we're cool. We are addressing each other with a relative amount of respect: why go there?
You've basically said the same thing 4 times in this thread. I know telling someone to lighten up never works, but lighten up and laugh at yourself a little. Also, though I see where you've asked him to stop and he hasn't. So, sorry for my part in thinking his 'done with this' was funny.
Lets come up with a Nirvana related safeword for this thread and all agree to back off if anybody uses it.
>>>See, there it is. Drop that "busting balls" crap and we're cool
Don't presume to tell me how to zone, McDoobs.
I told you I'd leave you be, but you've insisted on riding my dick for the last two hours. If reading your own quotes in a thread is more than you can handle, I'm not sure what to tell you.
As I said (five times now?) I'm done with his snarky bullshit. I get that he thinks it's funny to flip me shit about it, you are certainly welcome to find it amusing as well. Spare me the lecture about "lightening up" though. As for the safe word thing: I thought we decided on fuck off.
I had had just moved to Humboldt County from Virginia near the end of 1993. I had been getting into Hard-Bop Jazz at the record store gig I'd had back East, and had an attitude about most current Rock 'n' Roll. I figured anything the 13 year old boys riding their skateboards to our store from their upper crust Blue Blood homes liked, must suck. So I resisted giving bands like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pixies and Nirvana a chance. Fast forward to Humboldt, and I was hanging out with a bunch of homegrown Humboldt early 20-somethings, who played a lot of Nirvana, Sublime and Tool. I started to dig modern Rock again. Fortunately, I caught a couple of Sublime shows when they came to Arcata. On that last U.S. Nirvana tour, a bunch of my friends were going to the Medford, Oregon show (I think Butthole Surfers and Meat Puppets were the opening acts). They asked me if I wanted to go, but I was short on funds then (Humbled County) and said, "I'll catch them next time".
Congratulations you have won
It's a years subscription of bad puns.

My opinions. Mmm. Mmm. [x4]
And there seems to be a problem here.
Your state of emotion seems to clear.
You rise and fall like wall street stock
And you had an affect on our happy talk
Hoover, I sort of liked the first link, All Apologies. Listening to Something in the Way, seems like it sort of dirges along. That might not be the right word but it's not far off. Thanks for the links.
I read your posts in the voice of a zoner who never hesitates to jump on the good ship Bliss Ninnie when it suits him before jumping right back into the pissing game before the day is over.
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
It must have been cold there in my shadow,
to never have sunlight on your face.
You were content to let me shine, that's your way.
You always walked a step behind.
So I was the one with all the glory,
while you were the one with all the strength.
A beautiful face without a name for so long.
A beautiful smile to hide the pain.
Did you ever know that you're my hero,
and everything I would like to be?
I can fly higher than an eagle,
'cause you are the wind beneath my wings.
It might have appeared to go unnoticed,
but I've got it all here in my heart.
I want you to know I know the truth, of course I know it.
I would be nothing without you.
Did you ever know that you're my hero?
You're everything I wish I could be.
I could fly higher than an eagle,
'cause you are the wind beneath my wings.
Did I ever tell you you're my hero?
You're everything, everything I wish I could be.
Oh, and I, I could fly higher than an eagle,
'cause you are the wind beneath my wings,
'cause you are the wind beneath my wings.
Oh, the wind beneath my wings.
You, you, you, you are the wind beneath my wings.
Fly, fly, fly away. You let me fly so high.
Oh, you, you, you, the wind beneath my wings.
Oh, you, you, you, the wind beneath my wings.
Fly, fly, fly high against the sky,
so high I almost touch the sky.
Thank you, thank you,
thank God for you, the wind beneath my wings.
Found a pic of Timmy and Mark. As these two grow old and pat each other on the back on each thread, let's wish them good luck into old farthood. Hope your zoner friendship rides out into the sunset. Never stop validating each other, guys!
Mark, congrats on staying fashionable as an old guy.
If only it were the 90's again for these two........
>>>I'm not surprised some people want it to all be blamed on Mark though. He's helped a few of you make yourself seem fairly foolish over the years. Seems to be plenty of grudges held.
Mark has made Judit seem fairly foolish???? she's neutral and was calling him out. Nice white Knight attempt though.. Gravy is right as usual..
And Jr i warned you about throwing in with Team Douche, its apparent you need more attention but this is the wrong kind of attention. What happened to the nice Jr that wanted to be everyone's friend, i know that person is still in there.
Very good friends with Pyramid and Lavabrain. Often see Voodoo chile at shows. Had Disco Stu help me out on a couple painting jobs. I actually remember breifly meeting Timmy once when he was trashed at DNB in Jersey. Dude almost took a header down the stairs at Mexicali. Met a bunch of zoners here and there at different shows. All good people in 3-D from what I remember.
>>>>>>>all you have to do it press a couple buttons. what's so difficult about it?
Its hard to get a picture located where you want it (after the text instead of before) and posting multiple photos in one post in the order you want is pretty much impossible.
also sometimes when the phone is landsacaped it will cut off the left or right side of posts so you can't read the whole thing or press the preview/post button.
Welcome me back to the fold Dave. I learned from this thread that we lived in Arcata at the same time. Even saw the same Sublime shows at Brews n Beats or whatever that place on the square was called. We should compare notes sometime. I used to special order Jazz CDs from the Metro and the guys would always pass judgment on my selections. Maybe you worked there, too? I bussed tables at the Samoa Cookhouse and delivered for Blue Max Pizza back then.
I think it was Brewin' Beats, Gravy. The owners were trustfund cokewhores and ran it in to the ground, although it got replaced by a pretty decent sushi joint. Saw a killer KVHW show there. Somewhere I have the show poster for the Sublime show, their final Halloween concert with Bradley Nowell.
I never tried to land a record store gig in Humboldt. People's Records in Arcata seemed on it's last legs and the Metro a little stand-offish. I sent a resume down to Music For Little People in Redway, but never got an offer, and gave up my record biz notions for a while. It would have been interesting if I'd landed the job in SoHum. As it was, the 6 years in Manila, Arcata and Eureka were pretty rich, well, at least experience wise.
My first job was building greenhouses on a Dutch-owned flower farm in the Arcata Bottoms, then I got a shift at Humboldt Bay Coffee Co. in Eureka, and set up with a waiter job at Ernie's Crab Shack by the manager at the coffee house, who lined me up with her old wait shifts. Her husband was the station manager at KHSU, and when he took the job as station manager of the NPR station in Okinawa, they moved, and I wound up managing Humboldt Bay Coffee Co. for a few years.
During that time, I made friends with the guys next door at The Works record shop in Eureka, and sometimes would help them with their inventory, but mostly would take my coffee tips and blow them on records at the St. Vincent De Paul's around the corner, or at the Salvation Army across town, where I scored my first Beatles' Yesterday And Today Butcher cover for 50 cents!
An EMT buddy of mine named Eli Reisner taught me the basics of Rock Climbing then at Moonstone Beach, and was the one who nicknamed me Java Dave. There were a lot of guys named Dave in our circle of friends, so it was his way of differentiating us, and since I had the coffee gig, it fit. I ended up using that name when I started dee-jaying on KHSU, first on Sunday afternoons with my American Roots Music show One Nation Under A Groove, then a Tuesday afternoon show called The Bluegrass Express, and then finally Sistah Soul's old prime time Friday night slot which I called The Juke Joint. Got to do some work with the news department too, and I did three phone interviews, with Bernie Worrell, Bill Payne and Duke Robillard.
Honestly, I was having a blast, but I was so financially strapped. I switched coffee gigs and worked at The Udder Place right on the 101 as you entered Eureka on the southbound 101, then started to substitute teach in three different school districts. After a year or so of that, and being forced to get Unemployment and food stamps in the Summer when the substitute work dried up, I cried uncle and took a full-time Emergency Teaching position at a continuation high school in SE L.A. My friends in Humboldt were horrified that I would leave there for La-La land.
It it was hard times, and hard choices. Sometimes I think about what could have been, but all in all, it's been a long strange trip, and I'm glad I've had it.
Jeez, I had no idea. All those old place names bring back many memories--I remember all those shops well. Must've listened to you on KHSU, as well.
>>Sometimes I think about what could have been, but all in all, it's been a long strange trip, and I'm glad I've had it.
I hear you. After awhile, I finally learned the wisdom I heard KVHW sing at a motel ballroom (what was that off-ramp just North of town with the motels but before McKinleyville?): "the journey is the prize".
You mean this KVHW show, Java Dave? I designed the poster. I liked the venue better when it was Brew N Beats but the food was decent. Better at the original Tomo, but not bad. Gravy, you mean the North Country Inn, across from Village Pantry..
Thanks TH, it's not my best poster design but I had fun painting the design by hand and then putting it all together with (now) archaic photoshop4 software. Once painted it took me about twenty times longer to put together a poster design than it would now!
Yeah^ I was kind of annoyed when Phil made off with Kimock right as KVHW was hitting it's stride. They were a really fun band...and affordable. Lastly I didn't want to see a guitarist whose own music I liked being groomed to be another Garcia stand in. Oh well, the horses are out of that barn now, people have bills to pay etc.
Oh well It was around 89-96. My best friend was publisher/editor. He moved up from the bay. He had every record label sending him free cd's since he wrote about the music scene. He had some really rare Nirvana "preprints". He had a place on Opera Alley in Eureka. I used to be a contributor. We got comped to any show in the area. Restaurants movies, comedy shows too. It is archived at the HSU library. Anyway, it was fun while it lasted. My boy put his heart and soul in that mag. It was kind of thing you would pick up at record store/bar/coffee shop. Great illustrations. Thought it might ring a bell if you were around the area then.

From a Gibby Haynes interview
From a Gibby Haynes interview:

I had a really difficult time watching Montage of Heck, but I would be interested in revisiting the music.
I had an import disc back in the 90's with a bunch of early Nirvana stuff, demos, Kurt solo radio performances, etc.
Some of it was clearly just unfinished toss off tracks, but there were some gems too. I believe some of that music showed up in MoH.

A very old friend of mine was the general manager of Sub Pop records in the 1990's.
Either way, can we please move on from the 90's?

Could be, but Hendrix was still a player while Cobain was a songwriter.
Players can always play and continue to be relevant as a live artist, even if they can't write good songs anymore (Jerry Garcia anyone?).
Cobain would have had to continue penning strong songs, which in my ignorant opinion is a much harder thing to keep doing over time.

Watch "The Beatles: Eight Days a Week" if you haven't. They couldn't reproduce their recordings live and it changed the band. I think Pat Smear delayed that process for Nirvana because they could play the songs on that last album live.

>>>>

No, I screwed that one up, Mike.
Oh well, fuck me.

BETTE MIDLER LYRICS
BETTE MIDLER LYRICS
"Wind Beneath My Wings"

Its hard to get a picture located where you want it (after the text instead of before) and posting multiple photos in one post in the order you want is pretty much impossible.
also sometimes when the phone is landsacaped it will cut off the left or right side of posts so you can't read the whole thing or press the preview/post button.

All
Jeez, I had no idea. All those old place names bring back many memories--I remember all those shops well. Must've listened to you on KHSU, as well.

I hear you. After awhile, I finally learned the wisdom I heard KVHW sing at a motel ballroom (what was that off-ramp just North of town with the motels but before McKinleyville?): "the journey is the prize".

You mean this show, Java Dave
You mean this KVHW show, Java Dave? I designed the poster. I liked the venue better when it was Brew N Beats but the food was decent. Better at the original Tomo, but not bad. Gravy, you mean the North Country Inn, across from Village Pantry..

Too bad about Cobain dying.
Too bad about Cobain dying, doesn't seem like with his lifestyle he would've seen 50, but hey, Garcia managed to. RIP Nirvana

Sweet poster Dise! It's way
Sweet poster Dise! Super visually satisfying. It's like a color palindrome.
It's way trickier than it appears coming from someone who's tried.

Thanks TH, it's not my best
Thanks TH, it's not my best poster design but I had fun painting the design by hand and then putting it all together with (now) archaic photoshop4 software. Once painted it took me about twenty times longer to put together a poster design than it would now!

Yeah^ I was kind of annoyed
Yeah^ I was kind of annoyed when Phil made off with Kimock right as KVHW was hitting it's stride. They were a really fun band...and affordable. Lastly I didn't want to see a guitarist whose own music I liked being groomed to be another Garcia stand in. Oh well, the horses are out of that barn now, people have bills to pay etc.

Oh well It was around 89-96.
