I just saw Zakk recently with Zakk Sabbath and will see him with Pantera and Metallica in April. I haven't seen Metallica since Cliff Burton was still alive, opened for Ozzy in Syracuse 86
I saw Ozzy in 84 and 86 and then saw Black Sabbath on their reunion run in 99 and actually did a meet n greet at Jones Beach and got all four to sign my Paranoid album. Saw Ozzy again in 2018
Pretty wild show, lotsa ups, a few downs but overall a solid day of music.... I streamed throughout the day while doing other things...anyone else check it out?
Yep. The entire thing since 7 am pacific. Almost time for Black Sabbath. I shed a tear when Ozzy was singing "Momma I'm coming home" and it looks he like might have done the same.
Little timing hiccup on War Pigs bug otherwise pretty solid set by Sabbath, was happy for Geezer to get a shot at one last NIB. wish Bill kept his shirt on but whatever it's rock n roll
he was to busy getting booed for being an awful frontman to an awful band and for being an all around awful person. wonder how many women and kids the bombs he signed ended up killing. war pigs indeed.
Watched parts of Sabbath. People have serious issues with Dead & Company but not that???
I'm all for these guys getting one more final bow/final payday, but common. Don't try to tell us that was great rock 'n roll.
On the other hand, the final vestiges of Ozzie performing sitting on a throne was really not that different than when he was ever on his feet and fully able.
Maybe I didn't see one of his most famous bits today; did he throw water on the FOS security? If not, what a letdown for his true fans. Sad.
I've seen Ozzie many, many times in many different settings over many years, and with all due respect, even with all the hits & history, IMO that dude is the most overrated rock star of all time.
I'm not sure what "serious" issues one would have about all four original members of a band getting together one last time along with a bunch of bands they influenced to put on a fundraiser charity gig... how exactly does that relate to Dead and Company?
^^^Watched parts of Sabbath. People have serious issues with Dead & Company but not that???
I'm all for these guys getting one more final bow/final payday, but common. Don't try to tell us that was great rock 'n roll.^^^^
For one there was no final payday dude. Proceeds from the show will directly benefit Cure Parkinson's, the Birmingham Children's Hospital and Acorn Children's Hospice, a Children's Hospice supported by Aston Villa. Nobody was paid to be there, unlike Dead and Company.
Also the Black Sabbath songs were basically played at the same tempo as the original, not slowed the fuck down like Dead and Company.
There are no more shows for black sabbath ever either! This was a one and done.
Seen bits and parts and wish the whole thing was streaming on Nugs. Ozzy's evil throne is bad ass. That thing needs a place in the rock n roll hall of fame or on the seventh level of Hell.
But the crowd looks weak. Sorry, but a custy fest and I have seen crowds at WSP that are more metal than that lot.
Was working so I missed it, but it sounds like it was fun and for a good cause. Impressed that Ozzy performed 5 solo and 5 Sabbath numbers.
Cool that Ronnie Wood was there for Train Kept A Rollin'. From The Concert For Bangladesh to The Last Waltz, he has shared the stage at some very big nights in music history.
Saying farewell gracefully isn't easy. The GD didn't know for sure that Soldier Field would be their last show (although Phil and some of the others may have intuitively known). I watched Led Zeppelin's "Celebration Day" on July 4th. While it wasn't billed as their final show, it most likely was. It's hard to think of another band that has gone out on such a high note.

The Band's Last Waltz wasn't really their last waltz, as they all found themselves on stage together a couple of years later at a Rick Danko show at the Roxy in L.A.
The Beatles rooftop show was a great last show, although so few witnessed it in person. Surprised Ronnie didn't show up.
1) Revel Ian (son of Scott Ian) on bass, and Hugo Weiss on keyboards.
Yoyoko on drums, the Japanese girl who went viral drumming Good Times Bad Times when she was 8.
2) Jack is wearing Ozzy's outfit from the '81 NBC (?) performance.
3) Roman Morello (son of Tom Morello) on guitar, is playing the polka dot V guitar
4) Black lifts the kid in honor of the Tribute cover
5) They shot it in 4:3 aspect ratio.
My little corner of Sabs.. all obtained in person, Jones Beach and Syracuse...met Ronnie a few times but somehow never got a sig from him. My 6th grade teacher was his best friend growing up. I've got Oz 4 or 5 times and a couple from Geezer and Tony too..
I wanted to capture the stream and archive the Ozzy/Black Sabbath sets but they have got it super locked the fuck down. I couldn't even use Airplay to stream from my computer to my smart Tv.
First world problems ha! I will assume that all the 'back to the beginning' will be released on dvd Blu-ray someday soon and hopefully those profits/proceeds will also benefit Cure Parkinson's, the Birmingham Children's Hospital and Acorn Children's Hospice.
I noticed that Crazy Train was played in a different albeit lower key since Ozzy's voice no longer reaches that original vocal register. It was nice to see Randy Rhoads on the big screen behind them. I wonder if anyone from the Rhoads family was in attendance.
id have a hard time choosing.... I'd say Electric Funeral After Forever and Into the Void are regularly in top spots at my house tho..these so many tho

My little corner of Sabs..
My little corner of Sabs.. all obtained in person, Jones Beach and Syracuse...met Ronnie a few times but somehow never got a sig from him. My 6th grade teacher was his best friend growing up. I've got Oz 4 or 5 times and a couple from Geezer and Tony too..

^^Awesome Fishcane.
^^Awesome Fishcane.
