i will never understand how some of the metal that was popular when i was in school is still listened to and is actually still on lineups with bands like sabbath or slayer. fred durst???? disturbed??? come on. when i was like 12 i fucking LOVED limp bizkit, but like...im not 12 and the people who were kids when durst was popular are all adults now. how an adult can actually sit and listen to limp bizkit is beyond me.
ditto for all that pop-punk stuff that was popular(and that i was super into) when i was 12-ish, blink 182, green day, sum 41, that sort of stuff...i had always assumed that people would grow up and move on from music that seems designed to appeal to and make $ from teenagers, and that the reason so many people from my dad's generation only listened to music from when they were young is because the 60s and 70s were a VERY seldom seen explosion of creativity in popular music and it really was just that good...but i uess for lots of folks that just isnt the case and there is a very strong tendency to default to what you listened to as a teenager. honestly its a bit depressing.
I hear ya and much of that stuff doesn't interest me but what stands out is seeing Jake E Lee and Rudy Sarzo on there and wondering if it's gonna be rotating in artists tribute like Willie's 90, those who played Ozzfests over the years. I see Maiden conveniently left out, Sharon..,,
I just saw Zakk recently with Zakk Sabbath and will see him with Pantera and Metallica in April. I haven't seen Metallica since Cliff Burton was still alive, opened for Ozzy in Syracuse 86
I saw Ozzy in 84 and 86 and then saw Black Sabbath on their reunion run in 99 and actually did a meet n greet at Jones Beach and got all four to sign my Paranoid album. Saw Ozzy again in 2018

Sabbath was really good their first 4 albums I think.
Nothing else on that roster does not make me want to run away. Never was a fan of any of those groups.
