Looks like I'll be in town just in time for the box office day of sale

Going up against Phish opening run at MSG.

Should thin out the crowd a bit at the Cap.

I'm sure the Phish will sell well but none of my diehard friends are going to those mid summer MSG shows. 

JRAD has run it's course. Time for Joe and Marco to push something original.

I don't think they've  run their course on the East Coast, the Brooklyn Bowl shows seemed to have many new(er) fans in attendance. A thinned out Cap is a great thing..see:Hooteroll

Cover bands are getting very stale

One GA ticket is $39.50 (+fees) for either night. The 2 night 'discounted' GA ticket is $79 (+fees). WTF?

They will probably sell out before the Phil shows. These guys are hitting thier stride. Certainly have not run their course.

JRAD is not even close to running it's course.  Go see them live if you can!  JRAD may be the best GD jam band playing now.   As long as this group stays together it's going to get better.

I've seen them live plenty.  I was onboard early on & still respect what they're doing.  The GD cover band thing wave is starting to pass and it's time for that band to make some original music. 

The shit thing is that most of the people buying tix to JRAD shows wouldn't even consider going to see the same band performing original songs.

JRAD plays RR this weekend and it suppose to be a high of 40 degrees during the day and snowing. Probably in the 30's by show time at night.  MMW opens. Should be interesting...

Think it is the night before JRAD plays the ogden in denver and it is sold out show.

Might I suggest that every improvisational jam that these guys play (and that makes up a lot of what they play) IS original music.

And if they continued to do that sort of thing sans GD tunes I'd still be there.  The video I saw of the Hooteroll show was fantastic.

Or you can come down to Georgia and see them play for $25.   As a bonus you can see RRE the night before for no extra charge.

No one wanted a GD retread as 100% of everything would fall short.   JRAD filled the space of many boring GD cover bands but yet they exist only because Russo was tapped by Phil. 

Russo was not a GD guy but is smart enough to know that bills need to be paid.

JRAD's members have had many projects. None of them made $$.

I did see the australian pink floyd cover band.   Highly recommended and I hate cover bands.

I'm interested in bands that play improvisational music, especially high energy improvisational music.  I did not experience that in any of the previous bands that I had seen any of these guys in.  If I'm guilty of experiencing what they can do via their interpretations of GD music so be it.  The fact is that I would now go see them whether or not they were playing GD music.
