Love everything about it .... sound, lights, overall vibe, surrounding restaurants, and on a few occasions the local hotel. Looking forward to see JRAD there in a few weeks. The only thing that I didn't like was being searched with a metal detector the last time I was there.
Never been there but it sounds pretty solid to me, especially when compared to other places.
From individual posts on 1.0 it sounds like staff could be a bit better/more relaxed, but those situations could be more the exception than the rule, and from my far away perspective it sounds like security at almost all east coast venues is a little heavy handed.
I would guess that the main issue is the venue is located in a suburb and not in the big city, but that's not something that can be fixed or to complain about
Metro north drops you off right next to the venue, It has a plethora of great places to eat near the venue, The staff is very friendly, but they had to enforce the no smoking rule in the theater after many complaints to the fire marshall. but smoke freely in the outdoor smoking area
At the break I usually sit in the upstairs lobby and overlook the masses lining up to jam into the smoking area. It can be pretty entertaining, like watching livestock.

Love the Cap , staff is always cool to me and they know me by name now ( I always bring them treats n stuff). It is so exciting and never get's old the feeling of walking up to the venue and seeing everyone out front...walking thru those doors( while chatting with random strangers in line) and feeling like "I'm home". Knowing that Phil is going to take us on another journey of magical musical madness, and that all my phreaky, wonderful partners in Phil~ness are spread out thru out the venue...and I am feeling the energy surround and lift me so high that I can touch the ceiling...lol !
my "hometown venue". Moved to port Chester this past summer and love it. Amazing restaurant choices. Panka is awesome. Salsa picante-mexican, aqui es sante fe-modern Colombian, coals and rye house are Also very good. The cap is about as good as it gets for a great evening of music.

I am with you Sam. Great Venue and Garcia's bar hosting smaller bands is fantastic. I even watched a Rangers playoff game in between sets at a Phil show. It's unfortunately a bit of a pain to get to -- although not very far (100 miles).
I've considered moving to Portchester to be near it, and maybe that will happen idk --- although I'm not in love with the place in a few other ways, it would be really nice to live close to that scene, though.
Best theater on the east coast...hands down...a working class neighborhood...nothing dangerous about it...it keeps getting nicer and nicer...Port Chester is booming...anybody who has never been there should check it out....
Who's trolling Zippy? You started a thread that shit on the town. We got your point! Now you come to what is basically a Cap appreciation thread and start spewing the same rhetoric. You make no sense. I have an odd feeing that Port Cheater is safer without you. Do everyone a favor and stand by your word and never return.
Cap has been a godsend to the scene. If you think about it, not sure any of us Easties would be seeing much of Phil anymore without it as I would doubt he would do residencies at any other place as the might not be quite as accommodating.
Currently out of work and would definitely take employment in the area to be able to catch more shows there. Currently 3.5 hours away which hasn't stopped me (over 60 shows), but it is a project to do that.
